WrestleMania 39, now being five weeks away, is just over the horizon. As the biggest wrestling event of the year inches closer, fans are learning news regarding rumored matches regularly. The storylines and feuds between potential opponents are also in fast-forward mode. As of now, three title matches have been officially announced by the WWE. The bouts for the Undisputed WWE championship, SmackDown women’s title, and Raw women’s title are the only three matches that have been made official.

With several long-term storylines heading into WrestleMania, stipulations are expected to be added to important matches for a better payoff. In a recent tweet, Xero News reported potential spoilers regarding the matches with a gimmick being added. However, it is unknown what kind of stipulations will be added to the listed matches.

The first reported gimmick match is the unannounced Bobby Lashley vs. Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania. Earlier, Bray was rumored to have another brand promotional match similar to the “Mountain Dew Pitch Black” match at the Royal Rumble. It remains to be seen what Wyatt’s match will be named for Mania.

The other gimmick match is reported to be Edge vs. Finn Balor. Rumors have circulated since last year that Balor and Edge will settle their feud inside the Hell in a Cell. It seems Edge and Balor will square off inside the brutal cell at the Grandest Stage to put an end to their grueling rivalry. The report also stated that the above-mentioned matches are expected to be announced with stipulations on WWE TV this week.

Rey Mysterio will reportedly put his mask on the line at WrestleMania 39

The report by Xero News provided a potential spoiler regarding Rey Mysterio‘s match at the show of shows. Rey is expected to face his son Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania this year. Dom is seen trying to infuriate his father on TV recently, but Rey has been patient until now. The match has still not been officially announced.

If the rumours are true, the father-son match could be set up, with Rey putting his legendary mask on the line. The stipulation could be a reference to the 1997 WCW match between The Master of the 619 and Eddie Guerrero. Where Mysterio managed to save his mask with a victory.

With Hard-Prison Dom claiming to be Eddie’s son, Rey fighting to save his mask again after more than 25 years would be a fitting clause for their match. It will be interesting to see whether Rey puts over his son at the cost of his fabled luchador mask at WrestleMania 39.
