The main event of Raw this week saw Cody Rhodes collide with Grayson Waller. Rhodes took care of Austin Theory at ringside and defeated Waller to pick up the victory. When he was soaking in the moment, Paul Heyman interrupted his celebration. The American Nightmare picked up a chair after what transpired last week.
Heyman warned Rhodes to take the name of The Great One out of his mouth and not challenge him for a match. Moreover, he stated that if The Undeniable did not withdraw his challenge, he would have to face dire consequences. The former AEW Superstar did not back down from the challenge, and Heyman proceeded to the ring with NYPD officers. The situation turned ugly when Rhodes attacked them with the chair.
Heyman retreated and called both Roman Reigns and The Rock. Upon acknowledging the situation, Cody asked to call them and inform them they were not hunting him, but rather that it was the other way around. The Special Counsel seemingly explained the failure of his plan to the cousins. However, despite having the stocks stacked against the 38-year-old superstar, he outlasted everyone and stood tall.
Cody Rhodes and Seth “Freakin’ Rollins appeared on Grayson Waller’s talk show, ‘The Grayson Waller Effect’ at Elimination Chamber: Perth. They appeared with one goal: to address their ongoing fiasco with The Bloodline. Rhodes challenged Rock to a match. The duo attacked Austin Theory after he tried to humiliate them. Later, Cody got the better of Waller on Raw this week.
The date for The Rock and Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes seemingly revealed
After the heated segment that took place at the WrestleMania XL Kickoff media event, fans are eager to witness the dream tag team match come to fruition. The Rock returned to WWE to face his cousin Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. Ever since Cody Rhodes took back his deserved spot, it was speculated that Rocky would miss the Showcase of Immortals until WWE included him in the WrestleMania trailer video package.
Wrestling Observer Newsletter‘s Dave Meltzer stated that the proposed match could headline WrestleMania Night 1. Although The Brahma Bull will wrestle in the match, Reigns, Rhodes, and Rollins will have to pull double duty. Also, Rollins would collide with Drew McIntyre on Night 2 with Reigns vs. Rhodes II main eventing.
Since The People’s Champion has joined The Bloodline, the Road to WrestleMania has gotten pretty interesting. In addition to that, fan anticipation will increase with The Rock being slated to appear in consecutive SmackDown episodes leading to WrestleMania XL. Only time will tell whether the dream tag team match actually comes to reality or if Rhodes gets his singles match with “Hollywood” Rock.
