“He made it personal,” Rey Mysterio blasts former NXT Champion for referring to him as a bad father

The rivalry between Rey Mysterio and Karrion Kross has finally progressed. On this Friday Night SmackDown, fans saw the two get physical for the first time. This past week on Friday Night SmackDown, Mysterio announced his entry into the Royal Rumble match. The former World Champion was interrupted by Kross.
Karrion Kross mentioned Rey Mysterio’s 2006 Royal Rumble win and blamed Mysterio for not being around his son Dominik when he was young. This infuriated Mysterio, and he began attacking Kross. Mysterio was set for a 619, but Scarlett pulled his leg, giving the upper hand to Kross, and he applied the Kross Jacket to Mysterio.
The rivalry between the two began in December when Karrion Kross chose Mysterio as his next opponent. Thereafter, Kross taunted Mysterio by showing up at his training facility and during his bout. This is the first time they got physical, and they will face each other on the January 27th edition of SmackDown.
During an appearance on SmackDown Lowdown, Rey Mysterio questioned Karrion Kross on his accusations of him being a bad father. Even though he had a falling out with Dominik, Mysterio said that he considers himself a great father. Though a bout isn’t fixed, he indicated that he would make sure he wins against Karrion Kross and make sure that Scarlett doesn’t interfere at the final SmackDown before the Royal Rumble.
“Well he [Karrion Kross] made it personal the moment he said that I was a bad father. How does he know? ……And Scarlett better not be on ringside, trying to clip me again like she did today before I try to hit the 619. I’ll make sure I take care of both of them,”
Karrion Kross spoke about working with Rey Mysterio
Before joining WWE, Karrion Kross wrestled in numerous promotions, including Lucha Underground and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. Kross has always wanted to work with Rey Mysterio. During a recent interview with Peter Rosenberg, he recounted being overjoyed to learn he would be working with Mysterio. He claimed to be thinking of some intriguing ideas that, with permission, he would incorporate into their storyline.
“I’m very excited about this and I’m getting ready to give people something unique…..We’re collaboratively and creatively ready to embrace that process. So far, since I’m gone back, I’ve been very happy.”
The January 27th edition of SmackDown will take place at the Sames Auto Arena in Laredo, Texas. Rey Mysterio won the 2006 Royal Rumble by eliminating Randy Orton. After that, he went on to triumph at WrestleMania 22 by capturing the World Heavyweight Championship. Mysterio dedicated both victories to his late best friend Eddie Guerrero, making the entire storyline poignant. For Mysterio, everything felt daunting, but he knew Eddie was on his side.
