On September 21, the Stamford-based promotion issued a public statement regarding its return to Australia. WWE will be holding the upcoming premium live event Elimination Chamber 2024 in Perth, Australia. Speaking of it, an Australian-based news channel suggested that Rhea Ripley is the favorite superstar to headline the spectacular event next year.

This Thursday, Australian-based news channel 7 News Adelaide reported that The Eradicator will be in the main event of Elimination Chamber 2024. It will be an exceptional feat for her if she is indeed headlining the event in her home country. The grand spectacle will take place at the Optus Stadium in Perth, seating a whopping 60k audience.

The 7 News Adelaide post on X reads the following, “EXCLUSIVE: A South Aussie wrestler will headline the WWE’s first main event in Australia since 2018 in front of 60,000 fans in Perth. It is a stark contrast to women’s world champion @RheaRipley_WWE’S humble beginnings in Adelaide seven years ago. @robcornthwaite#7NEWS.” This also marks WWE’s first premium live event in Australia since the Super Showdown in 2018.

Rhea Ripley hails from Adelaide, South Australia. Before making it to WWE, the 27-year-old began her career in the independent circuits of Australia. Over the last year, The Eradicator has established herself as one of the most sought-after superstars in WWE. At the young age of 27, Ripley is already a Grand Slam Women’s Champion.

A contrary report claims Rhea Ripley is not headlining Elimination Chamber 2024

WWE has set the stage to make its grand comeback to Australia with Elimination Chamber 2024. As stated above, a blitz of rumors started emanating that Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley was the chosen superstar to headline the mega event in her home country. However, another report suggests otherwise, disproving the Australian media’s claims.

The latest report via Haus of Wrestling suggests that their team reached out to WWE to get to the bottom of the matter. Addressing the ongoing rumors, a WWE source stated that “Rhea Ripley will be on the show, and creative will dictate the match and match position.” It was also noted that the news has no truth to it. It is just local media doing what it usually does, the WWE source added.

The said source believes this rumor is just as vague as the news of The Rock returning to wrestle at Elimination Chamber 25. The latter news also emerged from an Australian-based media. Thus, the decision regarding Ripley’s placement in the Elimination Chamber match card is not yet ascertained. Nonetheless, it would be silly to rule out the odds of Ripley headlining the event.
