WWE fans have been anticipating Roman Reigns appearance for nearly two months. It appears that their long wait may finally come to an end. Recently, BOK Center has advertised the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for the October 13 episode of SmackDown in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Tribal Chief made his last televised appearance on the August 11 edition of Friday Night SmackDown. It was where Main Event Jey quit SmackDown following the betrayal of his brother Jimmy Uso. Moreover, Roman Reigns wrestled his last singles match against Jey Uso at SummerSlam. The champion hasn’t defended his title since.

A lot of things have changed since Reigns last appeared on SmackDown. Jey Uso, who seemingly quit WWE at that point, has moved away from The Bloodline and now features on the red brand. Meanwhile, Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso have been carrying The Bloodline story forward. It’s just a matter of time before Roman Reigns returns and injects himself into the storyline.

Now that the 38-year-old will return to the blue brand on October 13, it is highly unlikely that he will show up at Fastlane. However, fans are thrilled to see what is in the pipeline for them ahead of The Tribal Chief’s return and who his next opponent may be.

Roman Reigns vs. The Rock at WrestleMania 40 still on the cards?

Before his shocking return to SmackDown this month, The Rock was a guest at The Pat McAfee Show. He spilled the beans about a possible WrestleMania match against Roman Reigns. Going by the latest reports, it appears that WWE still hasn’t ruled out the possibility of their box office match.

According to a report from The West Australia via Haus of Wrestling, the TKO Group Holdings head honchos want their first WrestleMania post-acquisition to be an “absolute showstopper.” They believe that The Rock vs. Roman Reigns match could just fulfill that to the hilt.

The same report also states that The Great One might be a part of the Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia, next year. His supposed match would likely sow the seeds for the mega match at WrestleMania 40. Despite The People Champ’s declaration that he is open to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, nothing seems to be confirmed as of now.
