Shawn Michaels is one of the greatest wrestlers to ever step into a WWE ring. The Hall of Famer has won various titles throughout his career and has been one of the most decorated superstars in the history. However, only a few people know that Michaels was fired only after his first match in the company. Yes, Mr. WrestleMania’s first stint with the company lasted only for two weeks.
In his appearance at Logan Paul’s IMPAULSIVE podcast Michaels reflected back at the time he first came in to the company along with his tag team partner Marty Jennety, only to reveal that how they both were fired after their first match as they were alleged to be involved in a bar fight, which ultimately led to their departure from the company.
While talking about the incident Michaels said that he and his partner who already had made a name for themselves in the AWA were ecstatic after they were hired by WWE. He then revealed after they arrived in the company, they were relatively younger as compared to all other superstars at that time. And therefore to get familiar with them they were advised to hang out with them.
Talking about what went down at the bar Shawn Michaels explained- “So, we went out and you’re trying your best to stay out of trouble, but then somebody was coming around like, ‘Come on here, you guys are big partiers.’ Like, ‘No, no,’ you’re trying to play reserved. Like, ‘Come on,” so you go, ‘Alright.’ I grabbed a glass off of the bar and smashed it on my head.”

Shawn Michaels Reveals How He Exactly Got Fired For Immature Attitude
After the bar incident, Shawn Michaels and his partner wanted to try their best to make it up to what had happened and went to Vince McMahon’s office in Stamford. While talking about the dooms day, Michaels recalled that he went to the office and he was waiting there before Vince McMahon arrived and complemented his boots.
Here, instead of being humble Michaels returned a very bossy reply which said- “Thank You! They were meant for walking”. Michaels said this and instantly regretted it but it was too late by then. Vince said that he was just joking and asked him to come to his office. And within the next few minutes Michaels was sent packing home. Clearly, Michaels’ attitude didn’t sit well with the boss.
However, Michaels returned to the company after a year and then went on to become one of the greatest WWE superstars in the history of the company. He is the current Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative and looks after NXT as well. Shawn Michaels was last spotted on television on Monday Night RAW during the DX Reunion segment.
