Former US President Donald Trump and former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon share a long history of friendship. Therefore, Trump has appeared numerous times on McMahon’s shows. Once upon a time, the former President took over an episode of Monday Night Raw and rained money on the arena where the show was taking place.
On the June 22nd episode of Raw in 2009, Vince McMahon announced that he had sold the show to Donald Trump. He continued to cut a heel promo on the three-hour special show. Out of nowhere, Trump appeared on the big screen and confronted McMahon. He also said that he would refund the fans their money as Vince had wronged them.
To the surprise of the fans in attendance, Trump announced that he would also be raining thousands of dollars from the rafters. Fans had a good time on the show, as the money falling from above was real currency. McMahon was shocked to see this and tried to stop everyone, but failed to do so. The show was called “Fans Appreciation Day,” and “Trump Raw” from 2009.
This wasn’t the only time Donald Trump appeared on WWE programming. Most notably, Trump was a part of the WrestleMania 23 feud against Vince McMahon in a battle of the Billionaires. Additionally, the former President was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in the class of 2013, along with Bruno Sammartino, Mick Foley, Bob Backlund, and others.
