Roman Reigns is currently enjoying the title reign of a lifetime. No other superstar in the last three decades has been a champion like this. The Tribal Chief won the Universal Championship at Payback 2020, beginning his indomitable reign, which continues to this date. Therefore, it is obvious that fans are wondering when was the last time Roman Reigns was defeated by another superstar in a WWE ring.

He defeated Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman in a triple-threat match to capture the Universal Championship. During his nearly three-year reign, Roman Reigns defeated the likes of Bobby Lashley, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Edge, Daniel Bryan, and others. Many came close to defeating The Tribal Chief but all eventually failed. The only superstar to get a victory by disqualification over Reigns was his shield teammate, Seth Rollins.

However, before becoming The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns was defeated by none other than Baron Corbin. This occurred on a random SmackDown episode on November 8th, 2019. Reigns was distracted by Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode as Corbin hit End of Days to win the pinfall.

This was part of the ongoing feud between Corbin and Reigns. The feud also saw Roman team up with his cousins and The Usos, who later formed The Bloodline. It had a poor buildup and random storyline, which was a problem the Reigns faced for years before turning heel in 2020.

After the breakup of The Shield, the 37-year-old struggled to find a supportive fan base. He would have lackluster feuds with Triple H, Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, and many others before establishing his dominance as the top star.
