WrestleMania 39 promises to be a spectacle that will be remembered for a long time. The biggest reason for that is the well-stacked match card and the potential of certain matches. One such promising match is Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley for the SmackDown women’s championship. The match holds a story that spans over three years. Ripley is carrying the momentum that is necessary to capture the title at WrestleMania. On the other hand, Charlotte is on the mountaintop as she awaits her challenger.
Rhea Ripley made her way to probably the main event of WrestleMania 39 by entering the women’s Rumble match at No. 1 and winning the whole thing. Charlotte Flair is no stranger to the Grandest Stage of them all, as she buckles up for her seventh Mania in a row. However, The Eradicator has seen a meteoric rise to the top of the women’s division since last year.
The SmackDown women’s champion has nothing but praise for her opponent at Mania. In a recent interview with Forbes, Charlotte applauded Ripley for her refinement since last year. The Queen also acknowledged Rhea’s grit by mentioning her Rumble win after entering at No. 1 and describing the win as incredible.
The 14-time champion further stated, “I need to know that she’s learning and digesting and taking it all in and doing what it takes to be at the top of the division. And she’s taking every moment that she’s been given and knocking it out of the park. And that’s what’s important at her level, is taking every opportunity and showing that you have what it takes. So she’s a much different player going into this Mania than the one before.”

Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley is not a babyface vs. heel feud?

Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley is one of the most anticipated matches heading into WrestleMania 39. The Queen is set to enter Mania as a babyface this year, which is rare. Whereas, Ripley is the best heel currently in the entire WWE women’s division.
However, Flair feels this is more than just a typical babyface vs heel feud. Charlotte said, “Well, like, to me this is one of those great rivalries where you just see two athletes going at it and you can side with whoever. I don’t think she needs to pretend to be bad or pretend to be good”. Hence, it remains to be seen who prevails at the Show of Shows.
