With just about a couple of weeks left for the Royal Rumble, the race to the Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg is heating up. Recently, a report from PWInsider suggested that 2-time WWE HOF’er X-Pac, aka Sean Waltman, a former member of Triple H‘s DX stable, was considered a potential surprise entrant for this year. Moreover, it was reported that the 51-year-old legend would be in Florida the same week as the annual event.

However, it appears like the former DX member isn’t impressed by those rumors. In a lengthy post on X, Pac said he’s at least a month away from taking his shirt off in public. So there’s no chance he’s making it to the Rumble, added Waltman. Now, there could be a couple of things to look at. First, either the former Syxx-Pac is trying to throw caution to the wind and convince the fans he’s not ready until he shows up.

Or, secondarily, which could be a major possibility in his case, he’s still sub-par from being ring-ready. For someone like X-Pac, who’s had his career whittle down owing to numerous knee injuries, it’s always a risk getting back to the squared circle, even for a cameo appearance.

I can still go at the drop of hat, at least for a few minutes. I can do all my kicks, except the one in the corner & I can do that again with a few weeks training. I'm at least month away from taking my shirt off in public, so zero chance I'll be in the Rumble.

The former Tag Team Champion hasn’t actually competed in a Royal Rumble match since 2000. Apart from him, speculation has augmented pertaining to Naomi and Liv Morgan‘s return to WWE in their concerned forte at the first PLE of 2024.

Who are the odds-on favorites to win the respective Royal Rumble matches?

On January 27 this month, a total of 60 superstars across both divisions are going to vie for that coveted berth at WrestleMania 40. The latest betting odds from BetOnline give a vivid understanding of how things could potentially pan out.

On the men’s side of things, CM Punk is the current favorite to seize the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, closely followed by Gunther. Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes is not too far behind, as he’s currently in the third spot.

For women, Becky Lynch is currently leading the fray with yet-to-debut acquisition Jade Cargill within the touching distance, followed by Bayley at third. Despite Becky holding the pole position, it’s not certain she’s going to win. Instead, it is Bayley who’s slowly started to catch the awe of the WWE Universe. Moreover, she is believed to be the one pulling off an upset amid a packed field of female talents.
