The final episode of WWE Smackdown, before WWE Hell in a Cell, has a packed card. A major match, which could’ve been the main event of the PPV, has been moved to Smackdown. Just a day before Hell in a Cell, we will be witnessing the match between Reigns and Mysterio inside the unforgiving structure on the Blue brand.
But this is not all. An in-ring debut and a battle for a crown, between Shinsuke Nakamura and King Corbin has also been scheduled.

WWE Smackdown Live Results: Roman Reigns vs. Rey Mysterio inside Hell in a Cell
This match was originally scheduled to take place on WWE Hell in a Cell 2021, but was moved to Smackdown hours before the show airs. Rey Mysterio makes his way down to the ring for his first ever match inside the Hell in a Cell. The Universal Champion Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring, alongside Paul Heyman.
Roman Reigns poses in the ring, as the fireworks go off. The referee locks the cage door as the bell rings. Mysterio quickly grabs steel chair from below the ring, but Reigns is able to grab it. Mysterio grabs the fire extinguisher and sprays it on Reigns face.
Mysterio manages to get early domination in the match. Reigns has barely attacked in this match. As he tried to recover, Mysterio took him down again with a trash can shot right to the face. Reigns is down.
Back from the commercial, Mysterio is brutally attacking Reigns with the steel chair, and Reigns is clearly struggling to get back into the match. Mysterio puts Reigns’ neck between the chair and slams it multiple times with the cage. Reigns finally manages to push Mysterio off.
Reigns went for a Spear, but Mysterio moved out of the way and Reigns crashed through a table. Mysterio tried to powerbomb Reigns off the apron but failed. Reigns fights it and went for a powerbomb of his own on the floor. But Mysterio fights it, Reigns instead swung him multiple times into the cell wall before finally launching Mysterio into the wall.
Reigns threw Mysterio down and talked a little trash. He connects with a Superman Punch and shouted that Mysterio will acknowledge him. Reigns goes for a spear, but Mysterio dropkicks him. Reigns connects with a Superman Punch before Mysterio can hit the 619.
Reigns charges, but he hits the ring post shoulder-first when Mysterio moves. Mysterio finally manages to hit a 619 and smacks a chair off Reigns’ back a few times. Mysterio puts the chair on Reigns’ chest and frog splashed twice.
Reigns powerbombs Mysterio over the top rope into the cell wall! Mysterio crashes to the floor. Reigns got Mysterio in the ring and applied a modified guillotine as Mysterio tapped out.
After the match Jimmy Uso walked down to the ring, and raised The Tribal Chief’s arm as the Champion. Rey Mysterio struggled to get up. As soon as he managed to get up, Reigns got him again in the modified guillotine and threw him down. He posed in the ring as the show ended.
Result: Roman Reigns def. Rey Mysterio (retains WWE Universal Championship)
WWE Smackdown Live Results: Cesaro addresses his attack from last week
Seth Rollins had appeared on Bayley’s Ding Dong Hello, last week. But Cesaro interrupted and attacked him. But most importantly, Cesaro tore Rollins’ pants, embarrassing the Messiah.
Cesaro was being interviewed by Kayla Braxton backstage, when Seth Rollins walked in. Cesaro was ready to fight, but Rollins mentioned that they were professionals. He asked Braxton to leave, as him and Cesaro sat down for the interview. But the quick interview between the two wrestlers ended with Cesaro shoving Rollins and escaping.
Seth Rollins will be facing Cesaro at WWE Hell in a Cell.
WWE Smackdown Live Results: Otis vs. Angelo Dawkins
Dawkins’ shoulder is taped up from last week’s attack. Montez Ford is also not present due to his injury. Before the match even began, Chad Gable hit a cheap shot in onto Dawkins.
Dawkins chased him, but Otis ran him over with a clothesline. Otis and Gable sent Dawkins shoulder-first into the ring steps. Otis held Dawkins up, and Gable hit a flying knee off the apron to the shoulder.
Otis threw Dawkins into the ring. Gable and Otis hit a double-team German Suplex/clothesline combination. The referees checked on Dawkins as the match ended without even starting!
Result: Match did not start.
WWE Smackdown Live Results: Bianca Belair challenges Bayley inside the Hell in a Cell
SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair says it felt so good to put Bayley in her place when “Ding Dong Hello” turned into “Ding Dong Goodbye.” This Sunday, Bayley will also kiss her championship dreams goodbye. She called Bayley out to the ring.
Bayley is nowhere to be seen. When someone laughs in your face, it’s rough. It made Belair feel like a little girl with those bullies taunting her. But Belair doesn’t let what anyone thinks of her, including Bayley, define her. Belair defines herself.
Belair wanted to say this to her face, but Bayley kept dodging her. Belair doesn’t just want her in the ring this Sunday. She wants Bayley inside Hell in a Cell. Bayley won’t be laughing when she grabs her hair and drags her face all over the cell. Bayley will beg her to stop. First they try to ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight out. Then you win.
Bayley’s music hits, and she walked out to the ring. Bayley tried to attack but Belair avoided it. They brawled before Bayley kicked her. Belair threw Bayley out of the ring and bounced her off the commentary table.
Belair sent her over the barricade, but Bayley grabbed the hair and pulled Belair into the barricade. Bayley hit a Rose Plant and held up the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Bayley’s face took over every screen in the WWE ThunderDome.
WWE Smackdown Live Results: Shinsuke Nakamura vs. King Corbin (battle for the Crown)
Nakamura has managed to steal Corbin’s crown every week. Tonight, they are battling inside the ring, with the crown on the line. The winner of this match will walk away with the crown.
Nakamura quickly took down Corbin and knocked him to the corner. Nakamura put Corbin on the ropes and hit a sliding German Suplex. Nakamura celebrates with Rick Boogs, who was standing by the ring side.
Corbin shouted about his crown and punched away at Nakamura. But Nakamura jumped on the back for a sleeper hold, but Corbin threw him off. Nakamura hit an enzuigiri and a sliding knee. Nakamura continued to knee away at Corbin. Nakamura went for the Kinshasa, but Corbin turned him inside out with a clothesline.
But Nakamura struggled to take Corbin down. He hit a couple of flying knee of the top rope but Corbin kept standing. Corbin went for a chokeslam, but Nakamura managed to knee him in the face followed by a Kinshasa for the win.

WWE Smackdown Live Results: Big E and Kevin Owens vs. Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez
Commander Azeez finally makes his in-ring debut. Last week Crews had teamed up with Sami Zayn but that resulted in a loss. Crews then challenged Owens and Big E to a rematch, with Commander Azeez on his side.
The bell rang and Big E started off against Apollo Crews. Big E avoided a kick and hit a belly-to-belly suplex followed by a splash. Kevin Owens blind tagged in and hit a senton splash. But Crews flipped through a back suplex and went for a tag, but Big E stopped him.
Big E went for a vertical suplex, but Crews kneed him in the head and tagged in Commander Azeez. Azeez kneed Big E in the ribs as Big E rolled out of the ring to recover. Azeez easily stepped over the top rope and scooped Big E up for a slam on the floor.
Azeez applied a cobra clutch to Big E. Big E managed to fight out of it , but Azeez hit a suplex and punched him down in the corner. Azeez hit another suplex. Big E tried to fight back, but Crews tagged in and knocked Owens off the apron.
Owens hit a Pop-up Powerbomb on Crews, Azeez broke up the pin. Azeez pulled Owens out of the ring and sent him into the ring post. Zayn appeared and distracted Owens. As Owens got back in the ring, Azeez hit him with a Nigerian Nail for the win.
Result: Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez def. Kevin Owens and Big E
WWE Smackdown Live Results: Rey Mysterio’s segment
Mysterio said that every parent knows what he’s feeling with the pain of watching a child get hurt. Mysterio had warned his son about the dangers of this business. But Roman Reigns took the baby that he held in his arms and threw him over the top rope like a bag of bricks.
Mysterio will never forget the pain in his son’s eyes or the man that did this to him, Roman Reigns. Mysterio cannot wait one more day. Mysterio wants this match, tonight, inside Hell in a Cell. Mysterio knows Reigns accepted the match last night on Twitter, but he wants to hear it from the mouth of the so-called “Head of the Table” himself. Mysterio says, “Get out here you son of a b***h!”
The Hell in a Cell completely lowers over the ring soon, the WWE Universal Champion heads out to the stage with Paul Heyman. Reigns says he doesn’t want to hurt Mysterio. This isn’t his fault. Mysterio wasn’t even ready for this. He doesn’t want to be locked in the Hell in a Cell with him.
Reigns said that what he did to his son was PG. But what he will do tonight won’t be. Is Mysterio sure he wants to do this? Mysterio says, “I’ve never been more ready in my life.” Reigns said that now we’ll do it his way. Reigns walked off to the back.
