Possible feuds for Rey Mysterio after WWE Summerslam 2021
Mysterio
WWE Summerslam 2021 is going to be quite different his year. On one hand established Superstars like John Cena, Charlotte Flair, Edge and Roman Reigns will be performing. On the other hand, rising stars of the roster like Nikki A.S.H, Damian Priest and probably Riddle will be seen in action too.
WWE Summerslam 2021, as of now, has six Championship matches on the card. While five of them are for singles title, one of them is for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship. Rey and Dominik Mysterio, who hold the distinction of being the first-ever father-son tag team Champions, will be challenging The Usos for the title.
The Mysterios had lost the title to The Usos at WWE Money in the Bank. Since then, they have been battling against the twin Superstars on the Blue-brand. The titles have allowed Jey and Jimmy Uso to ensure that all the members of The Bloodline are currently Champions, with Roman Reigns being the Universal Champion.
At “The Biggest Party of the Summer” a loss for The Mysterios will open up exciting possibilities which WWE can explore. On the other hand, as of now, there is no point for the Usos to lose the title, unless WWE has planned another Usos vs Reigns feud.
Possible challengers for Rey Mysterio after WWE Summerslam 2021
One of the biggest challengers for Rey Mysterio, if he fails to capture the title at Summerslam, will be none other than his son/tag-team partner Dominik Mysterio. In terms of storyline, we could see Dominik blame Rey for their loss at Summerslam, thereby kicking off the father-son rivalry.
Since debuting nearly an year ago (co-incidentally at WWE Summerslam 2020), Dominik Mysterio has been operating under the wings of his father, Rey Mysterio. Throughout his tenure on WWE TV, we haven’t really seen him as an individual character and a feud against Rey might just do wonders for his career.
WWE Summerslam 2021 airs live on 21st August.
