3 Ways to book a match between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns
Seth Rollins is one of the best WWE superstars in the company. His past accomplishments talk a lot about his career. Also, nobody can deny the fact that he is one of the best in-ring adversaries on the roster.
Rollins and Reigns share a lot of history with each other. It doesn’t matter if they stand in front of each other or beside each other, they put a show stopper together. Rollins is currently one of the biggest heels in WWE and is looking for some championship victories in the coming months. The Beastslayer has not won a singles championship since his Universal Championship reign in 2019 which makes him one of the most competent prospects for the singles championship.
One of the biggest questions on the minds of the WWE Universe is when Seth Rollins is going to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. Here are three ways WWE can build a storyline and get a bonus for the audience when they are back.
#3 Turn Seth Rollins face
Seth Rollins turned heel at the end of 2019 and got enormous heat from the WWE Universe then. He has been running as one of the best heels in the company, but it is time to shift gears. Smackdown already lacks top-tier facing superstars who could challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. Since Daniel Bryan was ousted from SmackDown only 5 former world champions are left. Out of the 5, 2 have lost one-on-one matches to Head of the Table. Out of the three left, Dolph Ziggler is currently working as a tag team with Bobby Roode. Edge will challenge Reigns at Money in the Bank for the Universal Championship. So, the only one left is Seth Rollins.
If Rollins turns face, he has two blockbuster opponents waiting for him. As rumored for weeks, Edge could be facing Seth Rollins at SummerSlam. WWE also teased the match when Rollins was not given a shot at the Universal Championship but Edge was awarded with it. If the match is on the SummerSlam card, Seth Rollins could have one of the biggest matches of his career and it could also pave the way for the former Shield brothers colliding.
#2 Get the Usos in Rollins way
The Usos are having a confusing run in WWE. Where everybody thought Jimmy Uso would step in front of Roman Reigns, he stepped beside the champion. Jey Uso has been missing SmackDown for two weeks now and their storyline gets weird every week. If Jimmy and Jey work with Roman Reigns then WWE can also use the Usos to get a WrestleMania caliber match when the fans return.
Rollins currently doesn’t has an ongoing feud. His feud with Cesaro has taken a considerable amount of time and has also come to a position where it ends. WWE should not continue this feud. Rather, Rollins should find another partner who embraces his vision and works with him.
If the two men then work as a cohesive unit, the Usos can be on their radars. Usos have been targeting the Smackdown Tag Team Championships since Jimmy’s return. If Rollins and his partner also step up, a feud with Usos could easily start. This could lead to Rollins polling their family and Roman Reigns stepping up. If the Head of the Table steps up to protect his family’s integrity, the fan favorite match could be brought back.
#1 Seth Rollins wins his match against Edge
Seth Rollins won the Money in the Bank contract in 2014 and made it one of the most historic cash-ins in WWE history. He cashed in the contract at WrestleMania 31 and pinned Reigns to win the WWE championship.
This storyline could have been relived in one of the most attractive ways in WWE history. Rollins is one of the best superstars on the Smackdown roster right now. After his loss at Money in the Bank, Rollins will face Edge at SummerSlam.
If Rollins wins his match against Edge, he could be proved as the top cobtendor for the Universal Championship. But if he loses, he could be proved weaker than Reigns and the match couldn’t be made possible.
If the match ends in disqualification or ends giving no result, it could be much more interesting to see who challenges Reigns. WWE could book a triple threat match for the Universal Championship which could be a pay-per-view on its own.
So whichever way it goes, WWE could create an interesting storyline for one of the best matches of the year.
