CM Punk has once again landed in hot water as details have emerged about his infamous fan interaction on April 20 that went sideways. The 47-year-old from Chicago has now been accused of shoving a fan in the chest at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In the aftermath of his WrestleMania 42 loss to Roman Reigns, Punk blew off steam, going off at a fan who was seen filming his WWE amigo Bayley hugging the wrestler’s wife, AJ Lee. He reportedly slapped the mobile phone out of the man’s hands, but that wasn’t all.
If it wasn’t for the security promptly jumping in between the men, things would have been much messier. The fan didn’t escalate things and apologised while Punk kept his death stare on. The former World Heavyweight champion wasn’t arrested on the scene.
The fan later said that he hasn’t decided to go ahead legally and expressed his desire for an apology from the star. Now, a new 9-1-1 audio recently acquired by TMZ has shed more light on the incident.
In this new audio, another fan who had been waiting to see WWE talent was heard speaking to a female emergency dispatcher in Spanish, with the assistance of an interpreter. The caller clearly identified CM Punk as the alleged aggressor. It is stated that the fan had approached in hopes of obtaining an autograph.
The alleged victim claimed that Punk placed his hands on him and was described as having “violently assaulted” him when he came into proximity. However, it is noted that the interpreter’s translation does not include the specific terms “violently” or “assault,” and instead provides a more general account of the sequence of events.
In the translated version, it is stated that the Chicago native pushed the individual and is described as having shoved him in the chest. A detailed physical description of Punk was also provided by the caller, with it being noted that his face appeared red and is described as exhibiting visible anger.
ESPN makes some changes to CM Punk’s ring entrance song from WrestleMania 42
ESPN has made a significant change to CM Punk’s entrance song from his match against Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship in Vegas. The streaming service now features a generic stock audio with amped up crowd noise in place of the AFI song Miseria Cantaré.

For the unversed, the Chicago native has previously used the song while competing on the independent circuit, Ring of Honor, and once in All Elite Wrestling. Nonetheless, the remaining portion of the entrance, which features “Cult of Personality,” remains unedited.
The changes are only for the US audience, where ESPN is the only streaming service for premium live events for WWE in the country. Meanwhile, other international audiences can still catch the highlights with the original unedited version on Netflix.

In the highly anticipated clash, Punk had a few other unique features in addition to the song selection. ‘The Voice of the Voiceless’ wore a custom jacket with references to his late dog Larry and more. The jacket featured a Puerto Rican flag, the name of Bo Lueders of Harm’s Way on his chest, his hometown’s flag, and the names of several WWE employees who passed away recently.
In the clash, Punk held his own before Reigns delivered two consecutive spears to defeat the Chicagoan. Reigns will now defend his title at Backlash at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida. He will compete against Jacob Fatu to defend the World Heavyweight Championship. Meanwhile, Punk’s immediate future has not unraveled as of now.
