Now that Myles Garrett has moved from Cleveland, Ohio, to Los Angeles, it was natural that many would believe his trade to the Rams had something to do with his girlfriend, Chloe Kim.

The two-time gold medalist snowboarder is based entirely in California. Not only was she born and raised there, but she also trains at Mammoth Mountain.

That is why, during the season, fans do not see the couple together as much as they do in the offseason. It is in direct contrast to other NFL stars, whose beaus are generally around them all the time.

Now that changes, and Myles Garrett can spend as much time as he wants with Kim. No wonder, as soon as the trade was announced, fans questioned whether the five-time ESPY awardee played a part in this trade.

Moreover, after dilly-dallying between the Dallas Cowboys and his hometown Cleveland Browns, the four-time NBA champion could finally root for a team in the city he has made his second home.

Rams rework Myles Garrett’s $204 million contract

When the Rams traded for Myles Garrett, the first question that crossed most minds was how they were going to afford it all. They had just handed QB Matthew Stafford a massive raise, and the pass rusher’s addition, along with Trent McDuffie‘s contract, was going to push them over the top.

The reigning Defensive Player of the Year signed a 4-year, $160 million contract with the Cleveland Browns before the start of last season. Cumulatively, the deal, including bonuses, amounts to $204 million.

The Rams and Garrett sat down to rework the deal to give the team flexibility in the long run. They managed to push the deal to five years, while also increasing his 2026 payout from $31.5 million to $37 million.

That extra cash in the 2026 season will be crucial. Prices of everything in Los Angeles, along with the taxes, will be a major departure from those in Cleveland.
