Tom Brady is a seven-time Super Bowl champion, while Cristiano Ronaldo is a five-time Ballon d’Or winner (awarded to the best soccer player). Both individuals are masters of their craft, but there’s one area in which Ronaldo outshines the former Patriots and Buccaneers quarterback.
According to Emmanuel Acho, from a viewer’s perspective, Ronaldo generates more excitement than Brady.
The more exciting player is [Cristiano] Ronaldo, obviously. As it pertains to athleticism in soccer, superhuman speed, superhuman vertical leap, especially back when he was in his prime, superhuman strength… Right-footed or left-footed, it doesn’t matter. Free kicks, penalty kicks, it doesn’t matter. Cristiano Ronaldo is an absolute specimen from a freakazoid athletic standpoint. That is what makes him so special. That is what makes him so exciting.
Acho said in a recent segment of his Speakeasy YouTube show/podcast
Acho’s statement is bound to make a lot of American football fans unhappy. That’s because Brady needs no introduction. Aside from his seven rings, he won the league MVP three times and earned 15 Pro Bowl and three All-Pro honors. He led the league in passing touchdowns five times, passing yards leader four times, and recorded the highest passer rating twice.

The secret to Brady’s success can be credited to his conditioning and never settle for second place attitude. He inspired generations of young players to take up quarterbacking as a profession.
Ronaldo came from a humble background. After graduating from Sporting Lisbon’s academy in Portugal, he made his name with Manchester United in England. However, Ronaldo truly became one of the best players ever to play the game during his stint with Real Madrid in Spain, where he faced off against Lionel Messi regularly.
Spells with Juventus in Italy, and a return to Manchester, followed. In 2023, he signed with Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr, and has scored 129 goals in 148 appearances for the club.
In total, Ronaldo has played 1099 career games. He has scored a staggering 830 professional goals. At the international level, he’s Portugal’s leading appearance maker (230) and goal scorer (145). He helped them win a European Championship in 2016.
In his team’s second group stage game against Uzbekistan at the 2026 US World Cup, Ronaldo scored a brace. He became the only player to score in six different World Cups. The game finished 5-0, qualifying for the round of 32 stage.

Tom Brady names the best passer of all time
Many consider Brady not only the best quarterback but the best football player in NFL history. But even he believes there’s someone else who throws a better football than him.

Brady made a special appearance on the Stick to Football podcast, hosted by former England national team right back Garry Neville. Instead of picking himself or his rival, Peyton Manning, the 48-year-old named Aaron Rodgers as the best passer he has ever seen.
[It’s] hard to put into words how incredible [Aaron] passes the ball. The way it comes out of his hand, the way it spins and delivers with the pace and the accuracy… There’s only probably [only] three people in the history of the NFL that could do it like him.

Brady holds a 4-2 record against Rodgers, including a 1-0 postseason victory. Rodgers is a four-time MVP and has multiple accolades to his name. However, he has only ever won one Super Bowl. 2026 will be his last chance to secure a second before retirement.
