Brandon Aiyuk’s latest revelation is even making a popular Washington Commanders fan X account unsure whether the DC NFL club should sign him after the San Francisco 49ers cut ties with him. In his latest video, Aiyuk explains why he’s using social media to attack the 49ers.

According to Aiyuk, he has no other option left at his disposal. The 49ers are not paying him, and he has to earn a living somehow.  Posting video messages helps him earn a decent amount (it’s unclear how much).

I gotta get paid somehow… because an employer is holding me captive without pay. At least social media [is] paying.

That’s a reasonable cause. However, the admin of the social media account “Sleeper Commanders” found Aiyuk’s parting words distressing.

I tell y’all what, I get a job back in the NFL man, I’m still going to be on my bs on social media.

Most football fans assumed Aiyuk would end his social media crusade if the 49ers allowed him to join the Commanders. With his confession, that scenario is no longer applicable. It’s a massive red flag, not just for the Commanders, but for every NFL team interested in signing the 28-year-old wideout.

Brandon Aiyuk goes after Jayden Daniels again

Last week, Aiyuk made a shocking move by calling out Jayden Daniels, the Commanders quarterback and his former college teammate. He’s not letting up. Aiyuk wants answers from Daniels.

In a different Instagram video, he talks about trying to contact Daniels on social media. According to him, Daniels asked him to call him on his phone number. Aiyuk reacts to Daniels’ message in the video.

…hit my phone bro!!! It’s important. Money is on the line.

Previously, Aiyuk urged Daniels to campaign for his release from the 49ers because they are a team. Aiyuk even took a dig at Daniels’ mother, who is also his agent. In reply, Daniels posted a popular NBA meme, instructing Aiyuk to keep his distance from his family.

Aiyuk and Daniels played together for one season at Arizona State University. When the Commanders drafted the former Heisman Trophy-winning signal-caller, Aiyuk tried his best to leave the 49ers before signing a $30 million/year contract extension with the NFC West franchise.

Seven games into his new deal, Aiyuk tore his ACL and missed the rest of the season. Despite rehabbing at the 49ers facility in the initial weeks, he left and continued the process privately. Even though the 49ers expected him to check in, he ignored the club. When he refused to comply with the summons, the club voided his 2026 guarantees.

However, rather than taking responsibility for his actions, Aiyuk blamed the front office for blocking his income. He’s no longer looking to suit up for the Bay Area team. He only wants to play for the Commanders. In an earlier video, he wore a Washington hat and wished for them to win the Super Bowl.

Although the Niners aren’t showing any signs of entertaining Aiyuk’s requests, Adam Schefter of ESPN believes they will release Aiyuk when training camp kicks off at the end of July.

If that’s true, Aiyuk has played his last game for the 49ers. The record book shows he has caught 294 passes for 4305 yards and scored 25 touchdowns in 69 league appearances. In 2023, he caught 75 passes for a career-high 1342 yards and scored 7 touchdowns.
