Jaylen Brown Could Have Played Alongside Stephen Curry If Not For Celtics’ ‘Greedy’ Demands
The Warriors could have had a duo of Stephen Curry and Jaylen Brown but they decided to turn it away.

The biggest surprise of the offseason so far was the Boston Celtics trading Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers in a blockbuster trade. Not only did Brown join the likes of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and now LeBron James, the Celtics traded him to a direct rival.
With Philly acquiring two top players in the offseason, the Golden State Warriors have been rather dull so far. They have not made any moves as of yet as they look to extend Stephen Curry‘s championship window.
While the Warriors missed the chance to sign LeBron James, it looks like the King was not the only player they missed out on. NBA insider Shams Charania reported that the Celtics wanted to trade their All-Star player to the Dubs at the trade deadline this year. However, the Warriors were not ready to give in to their demands.
The Warriors could’ve got in the Jaylen Brown sweepstakes if they wanted to give up four first-round picks-ish, in that range. They decided not to from my understanding. Those two teams, the Warriors and Celtics did talk about a Jaylen Brown trade around the trade deadline, and it was around several first-round draft picks, potential swaps, and seconds.

The blockbuster trade of Brown caught everyone, including the former Finals MVP himself, by surprise. Brown was drafted by the Celtics in 2016 and developed a special bond with the fans throughout the years. He even revealed that he would be committed to playing in Boston for the next 10 years if it were up to him. Unfortunately, things did not go according to plan.
However, it looks like the Celtics were looking to trade Jaylen Brown away at the trade deadline itself. But the Warriors stood their ground, unwilling to give up on their future assets. Considering the season
he just had, it could be seen as a missed opportunity for Curry and the Warriors, who missed out on James as well.
Stephen Curry should consider moving on from the Warriors, says journo
Curry may still be playing at a very high level, but he is at the backend of his career. The Warriors did show some signs of life till Jimmy Butler tore his ACL in January. With Butler not expected to return till next year, Curry will have a lot on his hands in a stacked Western Conference.
American sportswriter Jason McIntyre believes it is time for Curry to move on.
The Golden State Warriors are very clearly the biggest losers in the LeBron sweepstakes. They put all of their eggs in the LeBron basket and came up empty. The NBA needs Curry in the playoffs… There’s everything to love about Steph. Except for the fact that he’s stuck on a crappy Golden State team going nowhere.

The Warriors were heavily linked to James during the whole saga. Curry was also open to playing alongside the 41-year-old, but in the end, James decided to join the 76ers.
Stephen Curry has given no signs that he wants to leave the Warriors
There is no doubt that Stephen Curry is the greatest player to ever wear the Warriors jersey. Since winning his fourth championship in 2022, the Dubs have not finished above sixth place in the Western Conference standings. They even missed the playoffs last season after losing to the Phoenix Suns in the Play-In Tournament.

I’ve not sensed any feel that [Steph Curry] wants to leave Golden State… But this is a team right now that’s at a crossroads. They’re somewhat stagnant.

The championship window for Curry is getting smaller with every passing season. They have now missed out on Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jaylen Brown and LeBron James since the trade deadline. But it looks like Curry has no intention to move elsewhere.
