Jalen Hurts has only ever thrown 10+ interceptions in one season—back during the 2023 season when he threw 15. The following two seasons, Hurts threw for a combined 11 picks. So, he doesn’t exactly fall into the “interception merchant” category. And yet, the veteran quarterback is facing heat for a pick at the Philadelphia Eagles training camp.
In a Twitter video uploaded by the Eagles’ official Twitter account, Hurts can be seen throwing a pick at the camp. Hurts, in the red (non-contact) jersey, zips a ball through a crowd of Eagles teammates, looking for a receiver.
However, Hurts’ pass was intercepted by All-Pro corner Quinyon Mitchell. The clip ends with Mitchell kicking the ball into oblivion.
Fans react to Jalen Hurts’ interceptions at Eagles camp
Hurts’ playing style has come under fire over the last few years despite delivering the Super Bowl trophy. All-Pro wide receiver AJ Brown claimed that Hurts wasn’t throwing the ball enough to him.

The two players drifted apart in 2025. After the Eagles were knocked out in the wildcard round, Brown requested a trade to another team because the offense had become stagnant. According to StatMuse, the Eagles averaged 22.3 points per game, which was worse than teams like the New York Giants (finished at the bottom of the NFC East), the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Dallas Cowboys, the Detroit Lions, and the Indianapolis Colts—none of whom qualified for the postseason.
The Eagles appointed former Packers quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion as the new offensive coordinator. However, with a few weeks left before Week 1 of football, Hurts is still making mistakes. Critics who want to see Hurts fail jumped on the opportunity to call out the Super Bowl MVP for a mistake he made in training.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an NFL team’s social media account just firing up clips of their own QB getting picked off… https://t.co/tL33jg6jiI

I won’t guarantee somebody gets fired for this, but given my experience with the lengths people go to protect Jalen, somebody getting cussed out for sure and then may get fired. https://t.co/CaQaD1vycA
Why would they post this https://t.co/FvnJABlNu0

Perhaps the admin of the Eagles Twitter account wasn’t expecting the video to blow up so much and for all the wrong reasons. The famous quote from Canadian novelist Robertson Davies: “The eyes see only what the mind is prepared to comprehend” defines this context perfectly. Admin clearly posted the video to praise Mitchell, as evident by the caption “Right on Q.” However, fans quickly morphed it into a witch trial of Jalen Hurts. A few pointed it out in the comment section.
Unpopular opinion in these comments: this post isn’t about Jalen. It’s about our CB1. Stop being sensitive about QB1 and if someone is using this to slander Uno, tell them to EAD and die. 🤷🏾♂️😂😂😂😂
