Aaron Rodgers does not back down from any conversation, particularly when he feels like talking about it. Now, he kicked the hornet’s nest when he labeled Dr. Anthony Fauci a ‘coward’ while on The Pat McAfee Show.
No one on the show asked the 42-year-old about his opinion on the controversial doctor, and neither did they lead him into talking about Fauci. It seems that the Pittsburgh Steelers star just felt like speaking his mind, especially since he has been vocal about the COVID-19 vaccine all the time.
Rodgers was direct when attacking Fauci, and neither cast member of Pat McAfee‘s show could stop him from doing so. Instead, the crew and the fans behind them laughing about it helped that clip go viral more than anything related to sports or politics.
Aaron Rodgers doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He should stick to football.
Fauci’s attorney, David Schertler said
This was the attorney’s response when The Athletic reached out to him for a comment on Rodgers’ rant. From this reply, it seems he believes that the Steelers star has no clue what is going on, and he should focus on what his primary job is: to play football.
This response could start another storm, as it echoes past phrases directed at athletes, most notably to LeBron James. When the NBA superstar was giving his opinion about the political climate of this country, FOX News’ Laura Ingraham asked him to ‘shut up and dribble.’
However, such phrases are unlikely to shut Rodgers’ mouth. Instead, he could take this to the next level and bring up quite a lot of things on his next appearance on McAfee’s show.
Mike McCarthy dismisses locker room concerns after Aaron Rodgers’ rant
While Aaron Rodgers is clearly pulling the stops on whatever he says, there were concerns about whether his rant against Dr. Anthony Fauci had an impact on the locker room.

These are grown men. They all have different opinions. There’s no question about that. But at the end of the day, my job is to keep it about football, keep the focus on winning. That’s why we’re here. We have a good locker room. We have a player council that’s in place. We had our second meeting yesterday. I think we’re in a good spot.
Mike McCarthy told reporters
This means that the head coach is not concerned about any potential impact on the rest of his players. Mike McCarthy believes this was his signal-caller’s opinion, and that should remain at that.

Anyone has the right to an opinion, as the NFL has witnessed over the past few years. Some have created dissent within locker rooms, but players have worked it out. It seems McCarthy expects his unit not to be distracted whenever Aaron Rodgers wants to get something off his chest.
Dan Le Batard reveals ESPN’s rule about Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers appeared on The Pat McAfee Show after a long time. The last time he was there, he brought up more such controversial opinions. The question everyone has is how ESPN allowed him to return when the network does not allow its employees to talk politics.
Their policy is no politics unless Aaron Rodgers brings it up. Then you are allowed to talk about it.
Dan Le Batard said on his namesake show
The analyst added that when he had opposed this rule back when he was with the network, it led to his eventual dismissal from ESPN. Dan Le Batard believes that the Steelers star has essentially opened the floodgates for others to critique the network.

Their recent decisions to let go of key personnel left many wondering whether the network was changing its stance. Now, Le Batard feels that more and more people will get the courage to talk politics on ESPN.
