Ashton Jeanty, remember the name. The junior running back of Boise State has taken opposing defenses by storm this season. Through 4 games, Jeanty has 845 yards rushing, which is insane to even think about. He has 13 touchdowns to his name so far this season and is averaging 10.3 yards per carry.
With his slew of stellar performances, Ashton Jeanty should ideally be on the Denver Broncos and not the Boise State Broncos. He is an NFL-worthy player and has earned the praise of professional running backs. With his latest performance against Washington State University, Jeanty is now the only FBS player this season with multiple 4 touchdown-scoring games.
He had a dominant start to the season as he put up 6 touchdowns in Boise State’s opening win against Georgia Southern Eagles.
In the team’s Week 2 loss to Oregon, Jeanty continued to shine as he had 3 touchdowns. Week 3 was relatively quiet as Boise State won the game despite Jeanty not getting an opportunity to get to the endzone.
Boise State beat the Washington State Cougars 45-24
He made up for it on Saturday against Washington State as he scored 4 touchdowns and had 259 yards. Jeanty’s performances have put him in the running as a potential Heisman contender. He has eclipsed a record held by an NFL Hall of Famer through the first 4 games of the season.
Ashton Jeanty eclipsed Barry Sanders‘ 1988 record of having 813 rushing yards through the first four games. That year, Sanders went on to win the Heisman Trophy.
So far, Jeanty is off to a great start and is on the right track. The award is given to players who break records, and athletes that redefine the perception of what is deemed to be possible.

Boise State’s head coach Spencer Danielson had high praise for his beast of a running back.
The impact he has on the team is undoubtedly profound. Jeanty finds himself amongst a select few players Travis Hunter, Jalen Milroe, and Cam Ward as prospective Heisman candidates.
