Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia have decided to fight after months of rumors, discussions, and veiled jabs at one another. The two most talented boxers in the world will square off in Las Vegas the in April of 2023.
Ahead of the mega fight Ryan Garcia’s Coach Joe Goosen expressed his views on this matchup. He believes this is going to be a super fight between two of the most talented boxers on the planet. He also acknowledged the fact that Davis was unbeaten with a lot of experience and a tough fighter to beat. However, he added that Ryan Garcia was one the best fighter he have trained in a long time.
He said, “You’ve bought two nice fighters. Everyone knows Gervonta has confirmed his value. He’s undefeated…However, I’ve been working with loads of nice fighters throughout my profession. I don’t have to call names within the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Ryan Garcia could be the best expertise I’ve ever labored with” to FightHype.
Both the fighters are coming unbeaten into this fight. While Ryan Garcia is boasting a 23 match winning streak with 19 knockouts to his name his opponent Tank Davis is riding on a 27-match unbeaten streak with 25 knockouts to his name.

Ryan Garcia believes boxing needs this fight with Gervonta Davis
The 24-year-old has become one of the biggest stars in the Boxing ring. Garcia has a sizable fan base on social media and is quite active on TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter. Ahead of his clash with Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia expressed his views on the fight.
Ryan Garcia believes that boxing needs more superfight to grow in popularity. He claims matches need to happen in big places with storyline and grudge show that the sport to return to its glory days.
Ryan wrote on Twitter, “Boxing NEEDS this fight right now. It’s time for us to get back to what made this sport so great for the fans: Glamorous fights in places like Las Vegas, grudge match storylines, and most importantly — the best fighting the best.”
In recent times boxing has seen a negative impact on its popularity with the growth of other combat sports like MMA. Boxing isn’t the same as it used to be in the 70s,80s, and 90s. In these dire times, all it needs are mega fights like this to catapult the sport back into the mainstream.
