Tyson Fury truly has no filter and speaks what he thinks! The boxing heavyweight champion is sick of the Lionel Messi/Cristiano Ronaldo debates.
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are two of the biggest sporting icons in history. If you are a football fan, it is almost imperative that you must pick a side in the world that is divided by the Argentinian magician and Portuguese machine. These rules don’t apply to the heavyweight champion of the world in boxing, however. Tyson Fury, the Gypsy King, has a secret option 3 in the debate between the two stars.
Recently Tyson Fury sat down with Watford goalkeeper, Ben Foster for an interview ahead of his boxing match against Derek Chisora at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Like any interview that has to do with either football/footballers, Foster too asked the Gypsy King the million-dollar question: “Messi or Ronaldo?”
Tyson Fury replied, “I think they’re both w**kers. I’m more of a like, Rooney guy.” That’s something you’d only hear the Gypsy King say when asked about choosing between arguably the two greatest footballers of all time. Fury picking the Manchester United/Everton legend Wayne Rooney doesn’t strike as shocking as the two have a cordial relationship. Rooney was also at the Fury-Chisora 3 fight and said that Tyson Fury deserves to be knighted.
Tyson Fury was offered to buy a struggling League One team
In an interview with TalkSport, Tyson Fury revealed that he was offered to fully take over a struggling League One side, Morecambe FC. The undefeated WBC champion asked the interviewer for some advice on taking over the league one side. “I’m thinking of buying Morecambe Football Club, they’re in League One at the moment. So I was thinking I invest ‘x’ amount of millions in them,” said Fury as he was quickly stopped by the host. The interviewer corrected the boxer and said, “By invest you mean throw it at them.”
Despite Morecambe FC having a poor record and ranking bottom in League One, the Gypsy King still seems to be interested in investing in the football club. “Yeah, basically throw it at them and keep them going up. I’ve been offered to buy Morecambe Football Club,” said the boxer in his TalkSport interview. Surely the football club is within the legendary Tyson Fury’s financial limit given his success in his boxing career.
The boxer is one of the best to ever step into the boxing ring. He’s been undefeated in his professional career and is now looking for a new challenge. The fighter is ready to take on either Oleksandr Uysk, Joe Joyce, or Deontay Wilder again for his next fight.
