Bryson DeChambeau has not had the best of years when it comes to majors this season. Ahead of the 2026 Open Championship this week at Royal Birkdale, golf analyst Brandel Chamblee tore into the LIV Golf star with another YouTube dig.

DeChambeau has a huge social media following. In his free time, the 2-time major champion is often seen filming content for his YouTube channel. As of now, he has over 2.77 million subscribers on the video-sharing platform.

The American international enters the Open this week in the United Kingdom after missing the cuts at the Masters Tournament, the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open. He had never missed 3 straight cuts in the majors before.

His missed cut at the Masters Tournament came after he won back-to-back events on the LIV Golf circuit. He has performed well on his league and is ranked 2nd in the individual standings, just behind Jon Rahm.

So it is not like he is completely out of form with his game. However, questions have been raised regarding his YouTube content. Many fans believed that this (YouTube) is one of the main reasons for his downfall in the majors.

While speaking on “Live From”, Brandel Chamblee tore into him. The Golf Channel analyst claimed that he went from battling Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy to trying to outdo every YouTube golf content creator.

One of the biggest surprises of the year is Bryson DeChambeau. It’s almost like he went from chasing Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy to chasing Grant Horvat. It’s like he wants to outdo every YouTuber in the game instead of out play everybody in the game of golf.

Brandel Chamblee said regarding Bryson DeChambeau

In September last year, Chamblee took issue with DeChambeau’s YouTube popularity. The former PGA Tour star seemed disappointed with the LIV golfer talking about his YouTube channel rather than speaking about the Ryder Cup, which DeChambeau was part of.

YouTube is something that the golfer does enjoy a lot. Earlier this year, he claimed that he would stick to this if LIV Golf shuts down after the end of this season, following the withdrawal of financial support from the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia.

6-time major champion Sir Nick Faldo also criticized Bryson DeChambeau over his game

Brandel Chamblee was not the only one who had some tough words for Bryson DeChambeau on Tuesday. While speaking with Sky Sports early on, 6-time major champion Sir Nick Faldo also criticized the golfer over his game.

Faldo, a 3-time Open Champion, was asked what went wrong with DeChambeau this season. The former World No.1 did not hold back and claimed that he (DeChambeau) had “zero clue” about strategy.

I’d say it to his face, he has zero clue of strategy.

He then referred to a quote from DeChambeau last year and pointed out his error in strategy.

He said it last year I think on TV: ‘I’m going to go out and attack the links.’ Well, I’ve never attacked a links. You thread it, don’t you? You feed it down the fairway. … You’ve got to think, how do I get it on the short grass? It is so important, and he’ll stand up and just keep bombing away.

Sir Nick Faldo added

This week, DeChambeau has been paired with his LIV Golf league mate Tyrrell Hatton and defending Open Champion Scottie Scheffler. While Hatton will have home support on English soil, Scheffler will tee off in this event after missing the cut in an official PGA Tour event for the first time since August 2022.

The trio will tee off at 10:04 a.m. (British Time). DeChambeau will hope to avoid completing an unwanted calendar slam of missing the cut in all 4 majors in one season.
