Cam Schlittler once again dominated the Boston Red Sox. His strong performance on Thursday led to a 2-time World Series winner hyped him up and claiming that he will soon be an award winner in his career.
The New York Yankees took the field on Thursday at Fenway Park, hoping to do something that they had not done since 2021. After winning 4-0 and 4-1 on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, the Bronx Bombers were looking to complete a first series sweep of the Red Sox in their home ground.
The New York-based side had Boston-born Schlittler take the mound. This was the first time he was facing his hometown team on their ground in the regular season.
Last year, the pitcher did play against the Red Sox. In the do-or-die Game 3 of the American League Wild Card Series, the 25-year-old dominated them, going 8 innings strong and picking up 12 strikeouts.
On Thursday, he once again shined in the battle against them. Though he gave up a home run to Carlos Narvaez, he restricted the Red Sox to just 4 hits. A 2-run single from Cody Bellinger in the 7th inning, along with a single from Aaron Judge, saw the Yankees take a 4-2 lead.
Schlittler finished his day throwing 8 innings once again. David Bednar then saw the game out to help the Yankees to a 6th straight win and complete the sweep of their arch rivals.

96 pitches, 69 strikes
Following the game, former MLB star Dontrelle Willis was impressed with him. While speaking about his performance, the “D-Train” claimed that Schlittler could be winning awards soon in his career if he remains healthy.
I am not surprised that he’s doing this type of damage. He will be an award winner in his career very, very soon as long as he stays healthy.

Willis also spoke on the Yankees. The 2-time World Series winner claimed that the Yanks will build up a strong lead in the AL East division once Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodon return to the rotation.
The Yankees, who stumbled a bit earlier this month by losing 5 successive games, have now won 6 games in a row. With the sweep of the Red Sox, they are 16-9 for the season and sit at the top of the American League standings. The Tampa Bay Rays currently occupy second place in the division, while being 2.5 games behind the Yankees.
Cam Schlittler drops 4-word reaction on social media following sweep of Red Sox
The New York Yankees completed their first sweep of the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park since 2021 following a strong showing from starting pitcher Cam Schlittler. After the win, the right-handed pitcher dropped a 4-word reaction on social media.

Schlittler has been one of those who is highly active on social media. Last year, he took a swipe at a Red Sox influencer after eliminating them from the playoffs. He received a few threats online after this.
Despite this, he has continued to remain active. Earlier this year, he shared a 4-word message after his first start of the season.
This time, he again shared a 4-word reaction. However, this time he took to his Instagram account to react. While sharing a post from the Yankees about him in his stories, he dropped a message regarding the series sweep.
