- Wives of the coaches reportedly gossiped about Russini's friendly behavior with Vrabel during the event.
- Mike Vrabel announced he would seek counseling following the controversy surrounding his relationship with Russini.
It will take a while for every detail of the alleged relationship between New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and NFL insider Dianna Russini to emerge. A new story is coming to the forefront, little by little. The latest piece of information on Vrabel and Russini came from Pablo Torre.
On the latest episode of Pablo Torre Finds Out, the former ESPN contributor revealed a story from FOX Sports insider Jay Glazer‘s pool party in Baltimore. Each year, Glazer holds a pool party where he invites NFL head coaches and their wives for some downtime.
Russini apparently organized a rival pool party across the same pool with Vrabel and a few other coaches participating. People with knowledge of the incident told Torre that there was something suspicious about the way Russini behaved during the party.
A woman’s intuition works better when it comes to sensing that something illicit is going on behind the scenes. Wives of the coaches apparently began to gossip about Russini acting a bit too friendly with Vrabel. Torre noted that this was before the New York Post published the famous photos.
A thing I found out is that their friendship was not breaking news to the people at the NFL owners meetings. They all knew that, in fact, they were out front together at this other competing, aspirational party.

Pablo Torre rarely misses the mark with his reporting. If this information is correct, it certainly raises whether more people around the league have known about Vrabel and Russini. Previously, Torre uncovered stories about the colorful life of former Patriots coach Bill Belichick and his young girlfriend.
What happened between Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini?
Earlier this month, an unknown man handed Post several photographs of Vrabel and Russini, which can only be described as intimate in nature. Both tried their best to downplay the photos, calling them innocent and harmless interactions. However, the damage was done.

Initially, The Athletic, Russini’s bosses, decided to show her support. Their stance changed a few days later, and The Athletic launched an investigation into her. Before they could complete the investigation, Russini resigned from her position.
An ESPN report revealed that Russini complained that it was a blatant misogynistic attack on a woman in a male-dominated environment. Moreover, she asked The Athletic to contact Vrabel before releasing a formal statement, which went against the company’s ethical policies.
This week, the Post published more photos. In one of the clicks, Vrabel can be seen holding onto Russini’s arms. And in a different photo, it implies that he is kissing Russini. According to the Post’s research, these pics were taken six years ago at a New York bar when Vrabel was still coaching the Tennessee Titans.
Mike Vrabel is seeking counseling
Before the first day of the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, Vrabel faced the media and announced that he would be inside the war room for only two of the three days. On the third and final day of the draft, he will meet a counselor and get therapy.
I take accountability for my actions. The actions that caused a distraction to the people that I care most about, my family, this football team, the organization, and our fans. My previous actions don’t meet the standard that I hold myself to… My family needs me this weekend, and that’s where I’ll be.

The Patriots appointed Vrabel ahead of the 2025 season. Under his guidance, the Patriots won the AFC East and the AFC Championship game, qualifying for the Super Bowl. However, the Patriots’ dreams of adding a seventh Lombardi Trophy to the cabinet ended with a defeat at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks.
