In Short
  • Micah Parsons defends AJ Brown against Eagles fans criticizing him for trade requests.
  • Eagles selected Makai Lemon in the draft, indicating a potential shift away from AJ Brown.
  • Parsons highlights disloyalty of fans who blame Brown for issues within the team's locker room.

Micah Parsons generally sides with a lot of his fellow footballers, especially when it comes to defending them. Now, the Green Bay Packers star has started to defend Philadelphia Eagles’ AJ Brown.

The star wide receiver did not stop at expressing his displeasure about the way the Eagles’ offense was run during this past season.

He was already disappointed in the year before, but winning Super Bowl LIX made up for it. It seems his frustrations were piling up, and they got to a point where the Ole Miss alum no longer wanted to be on the team.

What angered Eagles’ fans was when they came to know that Brown had placed multiple trade requests throughout the season. They started labeling him as ungrateful.

But as the draft unfolded, and the Eagles selected Makai Lemon, those passionate fans went on the attack towards their best pass catcher.

It’s amusing how many Eagles fans believe AJ Brown is the problem!

This was not the first time the Packers’ star pass rusher defended AJ Brown, and might not be the last. Micah Parsons slammed fans for turning their backs on a player who led them to two Super Bowls and won one.

He believes that the sometimes-over-the-top fans are being disloyal to trash Brown without knowing whether he was truly the problem inside that locker room.

Skip Bayless believes Makai Lemon was the steal of the draft

While AJ Brown gets most of the blowback, it seems that the Philadelphia Eagles are preparing for life after him when they selected Makai Lemon with the 20th overall pick.

It came out of nowhere. The degree of difficulty to go from No. 23 up to No. 20 to pull off the steal of the draft… He is the perfect pick for the perfect team at the perfect time. He is just what the doctor ordered for Jalen Hurts because he works the middle of the field.

Skip Bayless said on The Arena

The longtime analyst believes that despite the recent revelations, the franchise has pivoted to building around Jalen Hurts. His strength is throwing across the middle, and that is what new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion wants to utilize.

Makai Lemon is perfect to exploit Hurts’ mid-range throws, and that is why they did not hesitate to steal him from right under the Pittsburgh Steelers’ noses.

This could also mean that the team is moving away from the over-the-top throws that their three-time Pro Bowl receiver was accustomed to. Skip Bayless believes Lemon’s skills could transform an offense that underperformed last season.

AJ Brown’s fellow wide receiver already linking up with Makai Lemon

Even though GM Howie Roseman tries to reiterate that AJ Brown is still a member of the organization, his decisions to bring in multiple receivers via free agency, the trade market, and now from the draft make it obvious that the Mississippi native’s time with them is over.

Makai Lemon will not take over Brown’s space on the outer edges, as he is built to exploit the middle of the field. Roseman has Dontayvion Wicks and DeVonta Smith to do that.

The latter also knows that his former partner-in-crime is already on his way out. That possibly explains why he took his newest teammate to the Philadelphia 76ers’ playoff game earlier.

The two stars were invited even though Josh Harris, who also owns the Sixers, famously stopped his basketball players from celebrating the Eagles’ NFC Championship win over his Washington Commanders.
