To say that Carlos Sainz’s time at Ferrari has not led to the success that the Spaniard would have hoped for when he signed the deal with the Scuderia in 2021, would be an understatement. Having proven his talent time and time again at his previous job with McLaren, Sainz was expected to achieve some great things along with his teammate Charles Leclerc by forming an F1 Championship-worthy partnership. Unfortunately, Sainz entered the oldest and most successful team in the sport at the worst time possible.
Only a few months ago, Carlos Sainz attended his sister Ana Sainz’s wedding in Spain. He was accompanied by his girlfriend Isa Hernaez. But now, several things have come up that suggest that the two are no longer together.
After a failed attempt at vying for the Championship last year, Mattia Binotto resigned from the top position at Ferrari making way for Frederic Vasseur. Even under the new Team Principal, Ferrari has hardly seen overwhelming success with only one podium victory till now in the 2023 Championship campaign.
At the recently-held Monaco GP, Sainz was heard over the radio, imploring his engineer to give him some information about the weather conditions so that he could select his own tires. This indicated that the #55 driver no longer has faith in his own team’s strategists.

While Carlos Sainz’s professional life does not seem to be going well at the moment, there are reports which suggest that his personal life is in turmoil as well. Awaiting his home Grand Prix in Barcelona, the Smooth Operator was recently spotted at an event where he was asked what he likes to do while he is at his home with some free time.
He answered, “When I’m at home I take time to spend with my family, my dog, my girlfriend, if I have one.” Now, his comment on him having a girlfriend has raised some eyebrows, with fans believing that the Spaniard has broken up with longtime love Isabel Hernaez recently.
One of the fans on Twitter, Conni, has pointed out that two of Hernaez’s best friends have unfollowed the Scuderia driver on Instagram, and that Isabel Hernaez, Carlos Sainz’s girlfriend, was not seen in Monaco even though she is a regular at the F1 paddocks. Thirdly, Hernaez has “not interacted with Carlos’ socials for 3 weeks now”.
Only last year, Charles Leclerc and his girlfriend Charlotte Sine publicly announced their split via Instagram. And now, the Monegasque’s teammate seems to be single as well. But the internet has sleuthed out a video of Charles in Monaco where he was spotted with a mystery lady, who is now known to be Alexandra Saint-Mleux.
Now, it remains to be seen whether Sainz confirms the news of his breakup officially or if these speculations are proven to be false by the appearance of Hernaez at the F1 paddock in Barcelona this week.
