British GP 2022: Predictions for Silverstone ft. Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz, and Max Verstappen

British GP 2022: Predictions for Silverstone ft. Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz, and Max Verstappen

As the F1 circus has now moved to the historic grounds of the Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire, UK, fans are all set to watch their favorite racers battle it out for the coveted race win at the British Grand Prix 2022. Silverstone is famous for its unpredictable weather which often makes for some very interesting races, and it has not disappointed us during the Qualifiers yesterday when the sudden downpour gave us some surprising results in the end.

With Carlos Sainz taking the lead in what is a career-first podium for him at Silverstone, the other surprise from yesterday was when Nicholas Latifi made it through to Q3 despite his Williams not getting the updates that the team decided to give to Alex Albon’s car. Keeping in mind all that went down yesterday and, of course, the free practice pace of the racers, here are the predictions for this year’s British Grand Prix!

Carlos Sainz will lose the lead, but end up on the podium

The British Grand Prix saw a brilliant performance from Carlos Sainz yesterday as the Spaniard cruised to the top of the starting grid by surpassing his own teammate Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen as well. But in the Main Race, it seems that Carlos’ chances of getting a Grand Prix victory for the first time ever seem to be bleak as both Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen will be eyeing the first place in the race and the twenty five Championship points that come with it. That being said, Carlos might drop to the second or third spot, but he will get a podium finish, in our opinion.

Lewis Hamilton will fetch some good points for Mercedes

While the 2022 season of F1 has not yet given Lewis Hamilton a Grand Prix victory, the Briton has surely shown it to everyone that he has still got the pace and the grit to finish in the top 5 after finishing P4 in the Canadian Grand Prix. The Mercedes racer is eyeing a World Record in Silverstone if he manages to clinch a race win at this Circuit. In our opinion, even though Lewis’ race win does not seem to be a sureshot thing, he will definitely retain his spot in the top 5 and bring home some precious Championship points.

Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc will have a fierce battle to take the race win

Fans were not happy when Max Verstappen finished his final flying lap in yesterday’s Qualifying and could not surpass Carlos Sainz in the standings. But nonetheless, we all expect him to make an aggressive overtake in the first few laps of the race itself to move past Sainz and take the lead of the race. And then there is Ferrari’s Championship hope Charles Leclerc. He has already won two Grands Prix in this year itself and wants to go for the third one to make sure he climbs up the WDC rankings and gets himself back in the Championship battle with Max Verstappen.

Thus, the fans must watch out for a fierce battle between Max and Charles which might very well determine the course of this year’s F1 Championship.
