Mercedes Boss Toto Wolff is not enjoying this year like he did during the last eight seasons, because the German manufacturers have lost out on the Constructors’ Championship for the first time since 2014. Their W13 failed to keep up with the speeds of its rival cars like Red Bull’s RB-18 and Ferrari’s F1-75, and thus, none of the Mercedes racers could bring a Grand Prix win to the team this season.
Despite the upsetting performance from Mercedes in the current 2022 season, Toto Wolff has vowed that he is expecting the team to gather better scores in the upcoming Championship. And in the middle of all this news, photographer Paul Ripke posted a story on his Instagram wall, where Wolff could be seen sporting a pair of cool shades at an American restaurant called the Butcher’s Daughter.
While the photo of Toto Wolff having some me time at a restropub did not seem like too big a deal for the fans, the thing that caught their attention is what the Austrian was wearing in the picture. Thanks to the eagle-eyed Mercedes followers, it soon became clear that the shirt that Toto Wolff had on while visiting The Butcher’s Daughter, belongs to Daniel Ricciardo’s merchandise collection.

Fans sniff around Toto Wolff’s latest picture to find some confirmation about Daniel Ricciardo’s Mercedes role in 2023
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton is currently 37 years of age, and he has clarified it to the media that he is not thinking of stepping down from his role in the team anytime soon. As for the second seat at the German team, George Russell debuted as a Merc racer beside his childhood idol Lewis Hamilton, earlier this year after the team let go of Valtteri Bottas in the young Briton’s favor. But still, there has been news that current McLaren recruit Daniel Ricciardo will be joining the Mercedes line-up next year as a reserve driver.

In other news, Toto Wolff commented, a few weeks ago, that he will not be present at every race in next year’s Championship season. This is because of the fact that it will be the longest F1 calendar next year with 24 races at different locations all around the world. Thus, to accomodate some personal time, Toto has said he will have to miss out on some of the races where Mercedes will be contesting in 2023.
