Owing to the massive success of Netflix’s Drive to Survive and several other factors, the FIA’s vision of taking over America with Formula 1 is slowly taking form. Till 2021, there was only one Grand Prix taking place in the US, but then, news was released that the FIA are planning to organize yet another race across the pond–and in 2022, the first-ever Miami GP was held. It became a massive overnight success, recording the highest viewership from the US in Formula 1 history.
The second edition of the Miami Grand Prix is right around the corner now, and fans are all hyped for visiting the Miami International Autodrome for the race in Florida. But there are many people who could not visit due to the exorbitant price of the tickets to the event. So, the ones who are going to miss out have ignited a massive protest on Twitter because of a makeup brand called Tarte that is sponsoring a free trip for some TikTok influencers to go to the Miami GP.
Over the last few months, Tarte Cosmetics have come into prominence thanks to social media because of their interesting campaign activities. In an attempt to promote their brand, they select around 50 influencers who are active on the popular social media sites like TikTok and Instagram, and then Tarte sponsors an all-expense paid trip for them to some exotic locations all around the world. This time, they have decided to take the influencers on a Tarte trip to see the Miami Grand Prix. And the F1 fans are going bonkers over this on Twitter.

Attending a Grand Prix in person to meet the racers like Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton is the dream of every Formula One fanatic, but it is seldom possible for most of them because of the ticket prices, the traveling costs, etc. Now, Tarte is taking their sponsored TikTok influencers on a free trip to see the Miami Grand Prix, which is one of the biggest races in this year’s Formula 1 calendar. This has gotten the fans quite jealous as they believe the influencers on the Tarte trip have no idea about F1 but they are still getting the opportunity to visit Miami while the actual F1 fans have to sit back at home.

In other news, the Miami Grand Prix offers am interesting switch in the run for the 2023 Championship. If Sergio Perez manages to seize his second victory since returning to F1 after the Spring Break, he will be able to surpass teammate Max Verstappen and get to the top spot in the Standings for the first time in his career. Thus, all eyes will be on the Florida race this weekend to see if the Championship will take a surprising turn as the Red Bull duo proceed to fight each other for the coveted title.
