“This game has felt like a robbery”- Fans lash out as Frontier pulls the plug on F1 Manager 2022

F1 Manager 2022 to be unsupported after the next update
The highly anticipated Formula 1 team management game, F1 Manager 2022 has not been as smooth of a release as F1 and game developer Frontier had hoped for, with the game riddled with bugs and inconsistencies making the game a frustrating and unbearable experience for the fans. Fans who had waited for several years to get a game where they could be a team principal at the pinnacle of motorsport.
On Friday, game developer Frontier announced the ending of updates and support for F1 Manager 2022, less than two months after the game’s release, as the company shifts focus to “projects beyond F1 Manager 2022.” This company stated its reasons on Reddit, with the final update of the game being focused on listening to the received community feedback to bring in change and adjustments to fix the bugs in the game.
This comes as a surprise for the fans and the industry as a whole, to see a much-awaited game left unsupported in less than 2 months. Decreasing the long-term playability of the game and discouraging new players from even trying it out. The next part of this yearly franchise will be addressing the issues affecting this game, but that does not come out as a valid excuse to the players who have purchased this game.
Fans to stay clear of buying F1 Manager 2022

After the news broke out, F1 fans remarked their disappointment and anger towards the developers, many pointing out Frontier’s focus on making next year’s version instead of fixing the present game. One user commented, “they can just brand next year game better because they added features and fixed bugs that should’ve already been in the first game.” Users also mentioned Frontier’s inability to fulfil promises in the past. A person also mocked the performance of the game, comparing it to Ferrari, “The game is pretty realistic If the only team you every as is Ferrari.”
This will be considered a disaster for F1 and Frontier. It remains to be seen how the developing company will improve on its next iteration of the game in order to bring back the fans and save its image.
