“Getting everybody motivated”: George Russell gives a sweet answer to what is Lewis Hamilton’s biggest skill that makes him so special

It is a well-known fact that Formula One is a highly competitive sport with drivers always aiming for the race win, and ultimately, the Championship win. But even then, there is a camaraderie between the racers who are team partners, and this friendship and mutual respect is very important when it comes to maintaining the perfect team dynamics. It has been seen time and again that the F1 World Championship-winning driver could only get his hands on the golden trophy because he had the backing of his team partner in the process.
The pairing of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton is a bright example of how team partners should be. At the very end of 2020, it was announced that British racer George Russell, who was in Williams at that time, would join his childhood idol and inspiration Hamilton in Mercedes after Bottas’ exit from the team for joining Alfa Romeo.
And ever since debuting with the German manufacturer, Russell has achieved great heights in his racing career–only because he had a healthy competition with Hamilton. Currently, in the WDC rankings, George Russell is in the 4th position, 20 points above teammate Lewis Hamilton, who is in P6 with 198 points. And in a recent Ask-Me-Anything session held on Reddit, George only had lots of praises to sing for his seven-time World Championship-winning teammate.

George Russell believes Lewis Hamilton’s team-building skills are his biggest plus point
On the Friday ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix, it was announced on Reddit that George Russell would be taking some questions from the fans before going into the proceedings of the GP weekend. As the fans flooded the platform in hope of George Russell responding to them, the Briton found a very special question which he addressed immediately.
Urging George to shed some light on his team dynamics with Lewis Hamilton, one of the fans asked, “What notable skill or attributes does Lewis have that you’ve only realised since becoming teammates?”

In response to the fan’s question, George Russell said, “I think one of the biggest skills I’ve learned about Lewis since being teammates with him is how great he is at working with his team, getting everybody motivated and all pushing towards the same ultimate goal.”
In other news, even though George Russell’s entry into Mercedes brought new hopes to the fans, the Russell-Hamilton pair have failed to get a single race victory for the team till now. But three races are still remaining on the calendar and the Mexican GP is right around the corner. So, it is expected that the two Britons will try their best to bring home one GP win before this season ends.
