Red Bull has dominated the 2023 F1 season so far. The Austrian team has won all five races till now with a staggering four 1-2 finishes. Milton Keynes has obliterated the competition and looks set to win both F1 titles this season. This has not been met well by fans, with Max Verstappen being booed in Miami. However, Haas F1 boss Gunther Steiner believes things can change soon.
Contrary to popular opinion, the 58-year-old believed that the 2023 season has not been boring so far. Gunther Steiner was adamant that there had been enough action in the first five races of this year. However, the Haas boss admitted that Red Bull remains the favorite for the championship. Steiner was convinced that a team would put up a fight against the reigning world champions.
Gunther stated, “I am believer that, at some stage, somebody will catch up with Red Bull and there will be a fight.” The Haas boss urged fans to not come to conclusions at such an early phase of the season in the 23-race-long calendar. Subsequently, the 59-year-old asked fans to give it a bit more time. He said, “I would be a little bit more patient.”

Gunther Steiner reminds fans of action apart from Red Bull
Steiner insisted that the F1 season is more than just the top team bagging race wins as the 58-year-old reminded the viewers that the 18 other cars on the grid are still battling it out. The Haas F1 team boss admitted that the highly-anticipated Azerbaijan GP was not as thrilling to watch as Sergio Perez came home with a Red Bull 1-2. However, Gunther mentioned that the season has been entertaining.
He said, “You maybe see that the Red Bulls are strong, but there’s a lot of other things going on as well. We [should not] forget about that.” Steiner reckoned the 2023 F1 season has witnessed some other great drives. Perhaps the biggest story of this year is the resurgence of former world champion Fernando Alonso who has achieved four podiums this season.
Thus, Gunther Steiner is adamant that Red Bull will face a challenge by the end of the 2023 F1 season. The Haas F1 boss believes that rivals will soon close up to the Austrian team and potentially win races this year. Presently, Ferrari and Mercedes are working on major upgrade packages that can help the respective teams go against Red Bull.
