With the upcoming British Grand Prix only a few days away now, motorsports enthusiasts and especially the fans who ardently follow Lewis Hamilton are waiting with bated breath to see if the seven-time World Champion creates another World Record by clinching his seventh victory in the historic Silverstone Circuit. If Lewis manages to secure another race win in the British GP, he will be crowned as the only racer in the world to win the highest number of times in a single F1 circuit.
As an assurance to the millions of fans who will be looking out for a great performance from Lewis Hamilton in his home race at Silverstone, Mercedes Boss Toto Wolff has claimed that there is a high chance Lewis might win even if his pace is a few tenths of a second away from the race leader. This is because Lewis has already raised hopes after his second podium finish in last week’s Canadian Grand Prix. Now, it only remains to be seen if he is able to make yet another World Record in the British GP.
Toto Wolff claims Lewis Hamilton might win the British Grand Prix to create a world record
In Lewis’ massive Formula 1 career, the 37-year-old racer from Britain has broken numerous world records and set some impossible ones as well. While the 2022 season has not been too nice for him till now because of his lack of a race win in the nine races that have taken place in this season as of yet, Lewis Hamilton is targeting yet another World Record while walking into the British Grand Prix.
If Lewis manages to kickstart his streak of winning Grands Prix from the British GP, he will become the first-ever racer to win the highest number of Grands Prix in a single circuit as he already has won his home race six times. While commenting on the possibility of Lewis winning the Silverstone race, his team Chief Toto Wolff said, “I think if we give him a car that is just a few tenths off the leaders, he will win the race. He’s the most complete driver ever and everybody has their favourite circuits, and with Lewis, it was always Silverstone, and Montreal and Hungary as well.”
With some sky-high expectations to keep up with, and a huge world record to break,it is yet to be seen how Lewis Hamilton fares in this week’s British Grand Prix which is set to start off in a few more days’ time.
