“Not my problem,” Lando Norris refuses take the blame for breaking Max Verstappen’s Hungarian GP winners trophy
The Red Bull Racing Team just achieved a massive records with their 250th win at the Hungarian GP, but Lando Norris caused some trouble for them
The tumultuous Hungarian GP saw some great action at the front of the grid from the start of the race. Saturday’s pole-sitter Lewis Hamilton failed to impress his hopeful fans who wanted the Briton to get a race win after a long wait since the 2021 Saudi Arabian GP. But Max Verstappen, who started from behind Lewis, charged against his longtime opponent and went on to win the race, taking his Grand Prix victory streak even further. Now, the Dutchman has won 7 races in a row, and Red Bull have earned their 250th race victory thanks to him.
But Red Bull’s record number of Grand Prix wins was not the only thing that got broken at the Hungaroring. During the podoum win celebrations, Lando Norris landed himself in trouble as he tripped over Max Verstappen’s trophy. The beautiful neo-classism-inspired Hungarian GP winner’s teophy shattered into two pieces as a result of the impact, and this incident became the favorite topic of discussion during the post-race interviews.
As all the people in the F1 paddock at the Hungaroring were putting the brunt of the responsibility on Lando Norris for breaking Max Verstappen‘s trophy, the Briton denied the allegations. He said, “I’m not sure, I’m not sure. Max just placed it too close to the edge. Not my problem. It’s his.” This led to Max Verstappen saying in a cheeky tone, “I’m going to take it off next time and just protect it!”

Toto Wolff commented on the Red Bull upgrades that have increased the RB-19’s speed
The Red Bull RB-19 has been the fastest car on the grid ever since the commencement of the 2023 F1 season. And their upgrades which were installed ahead of the Hungarian GP made them almost invincible. Thus, even though Max failed to achieve pole position as he could not catch up to Lewis Hamilton’s lap times, he managed to go past the seven-time World Champion quite easily because of his car’s superior speed. Commenting on the RB-19’s pace, Toto Wolff said, “You saw the pace Max had today. It’s like a bunch of Formula 2 cars against a Formula 1 car.”
With seven back to back wins in a single Formula One season, Max Verstappen has cemented his position as the undisputed leader of the grid in F1 2023. But, only 11 races have been held and 12 are still left. There can be several ups and downs in tve rest of the F1 season, and it remains to be seen if Max can manage to cling on to his position till the very end of the year.
