Lewis Hamilton gives update on Roscoe’s ‘pro status’ in skateboarding

After a string of power-packed races to fill the first half of the 2023 Formula One season, the summer break is now here. Racers have retreated to their homes all around the world to spend some time with their family and friends as they hardly get any time away from the busy F1 schedule. And Max Verstappen has decided to head towards Sardinia, Italy, for a trip with Vogue cover model girlfriend Kelly Piquet and her daughter Penelope. For Lewis Hamilton, the holidays seem to be all about his pet dog Roscoe.

For any F1 follower who likes Lewis Hamilton, Roscoe the bulldog is no stranger. The soon-to-be-11-year-old is Lewis Hamilton’s pet, but that is not his only identity. Roscoe is a social media influencer in his own right, having signed a contract with a modelling agency. He has almost a million followers on Instagram, and has now decided to take up a new hobby–skateboarding.

As Lewis Hamilton is currently at home, he has taken it upon himself to teach Roscoe some life skills. Only a few days ago, a video of the seven-time World Champion teaching the virtue of sharing to Roscoe went viral on the internet as they shared some watermelons. Now, a photo of the bulldog trying his hands (paws, rather) at skateboarding has made it to social media. And when fans wondered when Roscoe will get his “pro” license, Hamilton replied, “He’s close to going pro.”

Roscoe, Lewis’ celebrity bulldog, earns $400 a day from his modelling commitments. And when the F1 circus came to Silverstone for Lewis Hamilton’s home race, the British GP, Roscoe was seen sporting some great outfits as he gave his ‘dad’ company as the Mercedes racer went for the win at the historic racetrack.

While Roscoe has gained quite a huge fanbase, Lewis Hamilton also used to have another pet–Coco. Lewis admitted that he adopted her from a breeder who was going to put her down as the costs to treat Coco’s congenital medical conditions were too much for him to afford. Coco passed away due to a heart attack and she could not be revived. But the seven-time World Champion took comfort in the fact that she passed away in peace, surrounded by her family.
