On the day when Alfa Romeo has taken over the headlines in the Formula 1 world with the reveal of their C43 racecar for the upcoming Championship, another news took the fans by surprise from a certain Maranello outfit. It now seems that Ferrari just could not let Alfa Romeo steal the spotlight with their curtain-raiser as the Scuderia revealed the name for their soon-to-be-launched 2023 challenger.
As the news broke with the admins of the official Twitter page of Italian team uploading a video for it, the comments section exploded with the Tifosis weighing in with their reactions. The date for the Ferrari curtain-raiser for their 2023 car has been set as February 14, but the team has already started teasing their fans about it since January 31. Now, with the big name-reveal, the Twitterati can finally see that the day is coming nearer and soon, they will be introduced to the Ferrari racecar for the upcoming F1 Championship season.
And taking away the limelight from Alfa Romeo’s C43 racecar reveal, Ferrari announced that their new car would be named as SF-23. The ‘SF’ in the name has been at the core of a lot of debate amongst the fans ever since they spotted the post. The last time the Scuderia had contested in Formula 1 with a car in their SF series, it was in 2021, when they had to settle for the third spot on the Championship standings because of some poor results. And in 2020, the team had had their car named as the SF1000, and that resulted in them being sixth in the standings, below Red Bull, Mercedes, and even McLaren, Racing Point and Renault.

Some fans believe the Ferrari SF-23 will bring the team their Championship this season
Owing to the poor record that Ferrari has had with their SF line of racecars in the last couple of years, some of the fans have expressed their disappointment at the name of their car for the new season. But others are quite excited for the reveal, and they are optimistic that the Ferrari SF-23 will be the one to bring the Constructors’ Championship home to Maranello at the end of 2023.
