With a schedule packed with back-to-back races, F1 drivers rarely get the time to wind down. Drivers make the best of the little free time that they get. McLaren driver Lando Norris spent time with Max Verstappen’s close friend and renowned DJ Martin Garrix. The Dutch DJ took to Twitter and posted a Black and White picture of the pair at New York City’s tourist hotspot the Empire State Building.
Garrix captioned the picture as “NEW YOOOORK WE’RE HERE!!!” and tagged the Brit. Lando Norris uploaded a string of black-and-white filtered pictures and videos of Garrix and him relishing the ‘Big Apple.’ Martin Garrix has befriended most of the Formula One grid. His closest friend, however, remains his countryman, Max Verstappen.
With the Canadian GP this week, drivers must travel to North America. However, Lando Norris seemed to reach the continent earlier than the rest. The McLaren driver has posted his tourist escapades on his social media as he explores the city that never sleeps. Twitter, as usual, was quick to express their opinions on this exchange.
“Best duo”- Fans react as the Lando-Norris duo steal hearts on Twitter
One can always count on the Twitterati to give the most alluring reactions to an event. It was not any different regarding Lando Norris’ goofy snap with the Dutch sensation Max Verstappen. Norris and Garrix seem to have enjoyed each other’s company in their recent social media posts.
One Twitter user was excited by posting, “Wednesday-Saturday is gonna be INSANE.” Another user, too, shared their love for the unusual duo “my favourite people, enjoyyyyy.” A different Twitter user called the pair “legends.” However, other users tweeted messages of concern towards Lando Norris as he leans a little too forward against the building’s roof.
“Please dont fall,” someone hilariously tweeted concerning Lando’s antics at the top of the Empire State. Another Twitter user echoed this concern tweeting, “becareful with Wind guys.” At the same time, one Twitter user insisted that Garrix posts the original picture, not in a B&W filter.
Lando Norris stunned everyone when he qualified in P3 at the Spanish Grand Prix last week. However, unfortunately for him, Sunday was not as impressive for the British driver. Norris finished the race in P17 behind his rookie teammate Oscar Piastri. The Brit and McLaren will look to improve things at the Canadian GP this week.
