“Anyone Who Goes Against Him Is Going To Be Beaten By Speed”: Eddie Irvine on Max Verstappen
Max Verstappen
After the incredible Azerbaijan GP, the Formula 1 action has quickly shifted to Canadian Grand prix during this race weekend. However with Max Verstappen finally being able to stamp his claim against Lewis Hamilton, things are surely going to spice up. Former F1 Driver Eddie Irvine feels that in this battle of the two supreme drivers in the 2021 season, the role of the second drivers will be key.
During his stint in the Formula 1, Eddie Irvine was primarily known for being the second driver the arguable G.O.A.T of F1, Michael Schumacher.
Eddie Irvine on Max Verstappen: What Did The Former Ferrari Driver Opinionate About Red Bull Ace?
It is no surprise to anyone that, Irvine is a man who rarely minces words. One can either love him or hate him, but he always has something interesting to say. Similarly at Betway, he gave his opinion on the role of the co-drivers at Mercedes and Red Bull.
He stated, ” Valtteri Bottas has beaten Hamilton before, more often than he has lately. Sergio Perez is new in there against Verstappen. Yetthe Dutchman has shown that the game is already over. They’re both de facto No. 2s.”
Despite his opinion that the hierarchy within the teams already seems to be a done deal, no one should be ashamed of it.
Irvine concluded by stating, “I think Hamilton is getting older now and his pace isn’t as good as it used to be, but he’s still, as I said, a consummate professional. I think people know that anyone who goes against Verstappen is going to get beaten because of his pure speed.”
After a horrid show for Mercedes on the street circuits, the F1 action finally shifts to the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal.
Will Mercedes be finally able to out-race Red Bull in Canadian GP? Or are Red Bull starting the end of Silver Arrows?
