Mercedes Provides Update After Inspecting Lewis Hamilton’s Car

Lewis Hamilton could take abck his lead in the driver’s standings after the Russian Grand Prix as his rival Max Verstappen will start the race on Sunday from the last position. However ahead of the spoken about race, Merceds have provided an update upon the minor damage suffered by the car of the seven-time world champion.
Hamilton initially lost control of his car at the pit entry when he boxed to switch from Intermediate tyres to slicks, forcing mechanics to conduct a rushed front wing change before sending him back out on the Soft compound. With his tyres lacking temperature, Lewis Hamilton spun off the track in the final sector on his last lap, and his rear wing nudged the barriers.

“There was minor endplate damage to fix for Lewis after his brush with the barrier on his slicks lap yesterday,” a Mercedes team spokesperson told RacingNews365.com. “All else seems OK.”
With Lando Norris clinching his career first pole on Saturday, he is followed by Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz and William’s George Russell. Lewis Hamilton would start the race at Sochi from the fourth position.
