After the agony of not being able to win any of the previous five grand prix, Toto Wolff evaluated upon Mercedes being the dominant force since Day 1 of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. After trailing in the Constructor’s standings, Silver Arrows Boss has also confirmed some minor changes that have been made to W12 ahead of the race weekend wherein they hope to reduce the deficit.

Toto Wolff has made it clear that Mercedes is going all in to be able to make a comeback as soon as possible. Or otherwise, this is a lost cause for the defending champions to their Austrian rivals. Knowing that Silverstone is one of the fastest tracks in the entire 2021 calendar, Lewis Hamilton will be hoping to make it count, especially being backed by more than 15,000 home fans at the circuit.

“Silverstone is an incredible track, fast and flowing, and one that we hope should suit our car better compared to Spielberg”, Wolff began in an official Mercedes press release. “We also have a few small updates on the car, and we look forward to seeing how they perform.’

Toto Wolff continues, knowing how essential it is to bring a strong car to the track this weekend, “We know we need to give Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas the car to perform at Silverstone and everyone at Brackley and Brixworth is working flat out to deliver it.”

Wolff also let slip a positive comment about sprint qualifying, which will take place in England for the first time. “The first weekend with the new sprint qualifying format brings a fresh challenge for all teams. With just a single one-hour practice session ahead of the Friday qualifying session, and the cars’ configuration fixed from the beginning of standard qualifying on Friday, whoever can get up to speed quickest will carry an advantage through the weekend”, said Wolff
