During the Saudi Arabia race on the Jeddah track, Sergio Perez proved his capabilities by qualifying first in Q3 in the last few seconds by beating Leclerc who temporarily had the pole position. Everyone on and off-track was very happy about the Spaniard’s splendid performance during Saturday’s qualifying.

Motorsport’s Twitter handles recently tweeted about Checo’s reaction to losing the almost under control race at the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix which said, “This is racing. It will come around for us one day but it hurts because we did everything, we possibly could to win this race from pole”

Checo, on Sunday, started off at a great pace from the pole position, keeping Charles right behind him. Everything was carefully planned out, back at Red Bull, and was smoothly running according to the plan until the unexpected crash of Nicholas Latifi to the walls after he lost control of his car led to a safety car and became Checo’s worst nightmare.

Shortly before lap 17, Checo was forced to make a stop in the pits after reporting wear on his right tire until which he was in third place. While Sergio Perez was exiting the pit lane, he was in the fifth position behind Max Verstappen, the Ferrari duo, and George Russell but soon overtook Russell.

After gaining positions, the Virtual Safety car was activated as the chaotic clash left different materials loose on track during which Sergio Perez accelerated to his third-place while the safety car was still underway which was investigated by Formula One.

The Mexican was guilty of breach of protocol and to avoid any penalties, he was asked to let Carlos Sainz move ahead and take the place. Once the transaction was made, Checo was let out of podium places, after which Checo no longer was able to manage to regain his position, thus losing his chances on the podium from pole position.

The Mexican was devasted by the way things ended at the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix but he was happy to see his fellow teammate win the race and cheered on as there are many more races lined up on the calendar for him to conquer.
