Golden State Warriors management thank a COCKY fan for revving up Draymond Green with insults

Draymond Green, who is notorious for making trash talks to other players and even to spectators, was given his 13th technical foul of the year on Thursday while sitting on the bench. One unfortunate fan found out during the Warriors’ 127-118 victory over the Washington Wizards on Monday at the Capital One Arena.

“He just was talking from the start of the game, until I shut him up,” Green said to reporters. “He stopped, obviously. But he had just been talking the entire time. I appreciate it because I had nothing. I had nothing going, I couldn’t find it, wasn’t about to find it, and then shout out to them — there were two of them. He got me going, so I appreciate those guys.”

The Warriors are aware of Draymond Green’s motivations. They are aware of his competitive nature. They also knew how he would make the fan retract his remarks. Green finished the game with 17 points, 10 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals after shifting into conquering mode late.

“We always love an engaged Draymond Green, no matter who puts the gas in the tank,” Stephen Curry said after the game. When Draymond Green makes multiple 3-pointers this season, Golden State Warriors are now 5-0 and 123-24 overall.

Jordan Poole entered the starting lineup in place of Klay Thompson, who was resting and had his finest game of the year. Poole ended the game 12-for-20 from the field with 32 points and 7 rebounds. With 17 points, largely in the fourth quarter, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists on Sunday, Green recovered from one of his worst performances of the season.

The undersized Dubs had a difficult time handling Porzingis’ reach and agility. Porzingis ended with a 9 for 15 field goal percentage and 12 free throw attempts. He ended with 32 points. Before playing the Celtics on January 19th, the Warriors will have a few days’ breaks from their road trip.
