Tiger Woods had his fans elated after his recent schedule announcement, the fans who were left to wonder if at all their golfing phenomenon would return, were filled with excitement to watch him swing. Tiger developed plantar fasciitis in his right foot.

The positive detail that still has his fans in hope is that he will be able to play in ‘The Match’ with Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, and Jordan Spieth on December 10. Following that, Tiger Woods was scheduled to play in the PNC Championship with son Charlie, which he confirmed he would be a part of.

Tiger Woods tweeted, “In my preparation and practice for this week’s Hero World Challenge, I’ve developed plantar fasciitis in my right foot, which is making it difficult to walk.

“After consulting with my doctors and trainers, I have decided to withdraw this week and focus on my hosting duties. My plan is still to compete in The Match and PNC Championship.” Added Tiger.

Plantar fasciitis is an inflammation of the part of the foot that connects the heel bone to the toes, with symptoms including pain around the heel and arch. It tends to heal itself through rest and the application of ice packs.”

The Hero World Championship was supposed to mark Tiger Woods return to competitive golf since he last played in 2022’s Open Championship in July. Although, the accident in February made Tiger Woods announce that he would not be able to play a full schedule moving ahead on the PGA Tour.

In February 2021, Tiger Woods lost control of his Genesis SUV while driving in the hills of Los Angeles. The world of sports was shocked to see the condition in which the car was found and indeed it was beyond imagination that Tiger survived that fall.

As December starts, 16 of the finest golfers amongst the Top 20 would take part in the Hero World Championship. Defending champion Viktor Hovland, World no.2 Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, and Jordan Spieth are set to fire up the show.
