The Dallas Cowboys might have won the Thursday Night Football Match against the New York Giants, but it’s the latter who had Jerry Jones’ attention. Impressed by quarterback Daniel Jones, he believes the Giants are on the right track this season.
The Giants are one of the only teams against whom the America’s Team has an undefeatable record to a 14-game streak. But this time, they gave the Cowboys a tough time before losing to a close 20-15. While speaking about the match during his appearance on 105.3 The Fan, the Dallas owner showered Daniel with high praise for his appearance in week 4.
The Giants’ signal-caller finished 29 out of his 40 passes for 281 yards and one interception. Late in the fourth quarter with final seconds left in the game, he tried one last attempt despite the Cowboys in the lead, but the game was too far gone by then.
The Cowboys improved to a 2-2 record as they moved forward to the upcoming game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Meanwhile, the Giants fell to a poor 1-3 record and set to play against the Seattle Seahawks.
Daniel Jones’ future in doubt as Giants consider quarterback replacement
Even though Daniel Jones came through for his team, his future in New York is uncertain. The team is looking for his replacement because of his inconsistent play and inability to elevate the Giants’ offense. The Giants are likely to trade up their 2025 NFL Draft picks to get the first-round pick, potentially eyeing Shedeur Sanders.
Compared to his young days in the league, Jones is definitely more experienced, showing flashes of potential. However, when it comes to being aggressive on the football field, the Giants quarterback doesn’t exhibit the same strengths as his younger self.
