Cam Jordan signed a two-year contract with the New Orleans Saints in 2023. It ended with the conclusion of the 2025 season.
Jordan is currently an unrestricted free agent. He has complete freedom over where he wants to play in 2026 or retire.
Despite turning 37 in July, NFL teams are keeping an eye on Jordan’s situation. But the doors at the Saints facility are still open if he plans to extend his stay.
Contract offer available. Cam’s [Jordan] kind of navigating this thing on the personal side. I think the world of Cam. Navigating it, and obviously, here to help in any possible way. We know what he means to this organization, this city. So, if the opportunity presents itself and he feels comfortable and ready to go, we’ll be ready to rock and roll. We have an offer [out to him] for a reason.

The Saints drafted Jordan 24th overall in 2011. In his fifteen-year NFL career, Jordan has only missed two regular-season games. He has registered 763 combined tackles, 132 sacks, 175 TFLs, 67 passes defended, 17 forced fumbles, 12 forced returns, and three interceptions in 243 appearances.
Which NFL team has Cam Jordan been linked to?
Earlier in the offseason, Jordan made it clear that he “wanted to be valued” by teams. Whether he gets that somewhere else or in New Orleans remains to be seen.

There’s no shortage of interest for the eight-time Pro Bowl defensive end. He has been heavily linked with the Kansas City Chiefs. That’s because he’s good friends with Chiefs veteran defensive lineman Chris Jones.

In May, Jordan poured gasoline on the rumors by attending a charity event hosted by Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The speculations have died down since then, but the possibility remains.
Cam Jordan’s opinion on Saints quarterback Tyler Shough
If Jordan returns to the Saints, one of the main reasons for his decision is second-year quarterback Tyler Shough. No matter what anyone says about Shough, Jordan believes the Saints have a great young quarterback under center.
What did you see from my young quarterback [Tyler Shough]? I mean, you saw the way that he turned it on. Had you asked me this in training camp, I would’ve said that he needed some time to cook. And we did. He took over the last nine games and went 5-4, or whatever that ratio was. But in those games, you saw something that could excite you. Something that could excite a fanbase. You saw him be able to be elusive. Be able to turn corners. He’s faster than he looks, you know.

Shough intrigued the media and football scouts prior to the draft. He played college football for three different universities, a career spanning seven seasons.
However, the former Oregon, Texas Tech, and Louisville signal caller gained momentum as the draft came closer. Experts expected him to be a third-round draft pick. So, when the Saints passed over the likes of Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel to select Shough 40th overall in the second round, it caused a lot of buzz in the media.
Shough began as the backup to Spencer Rattler. It was clear from day one that Rattler wasn’t the man for the job. Moore made the switch to Shough, and he delivered five wins from nine starts, including a four-game winning streak near the end of the 2025 season.

The Saints finished with a 6-11 record, but Shough made a positive impression on the fans and the critics. He registered 221 completions from 327 attempts (67.6%) for 10 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He further added 186 yards on the ground and scored 3 touchdowns.
