In Short
  • LeSean McCoy criticizes social media for speculating on the relationship between Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown.
  • AJ Brown's wedding saw the absence of Jalen Hurts and other Eagles teammates, raising eyebrows.
  • Brown is in the final year of his contract and has requested a trade, with the Jaguars emerging as a potential destination.

LeSean McCoy has had enough of social media trying to puncture the relationship between Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown after reports surfaced that Hurts skipped Brown’s wedding. A different report suggested Hurts did not even send an invitation to his quarterback at the Philadelphia Eagles.

McCoy is tired of the constant negative chatter. The ex-Eagles running back acknowledged that the trust between Hurts and Brown is no longer there, but that doesn’t justify the media’s relentless intrusion into their private lives.

The offense broke down. He ain’t throwing the ball, I ain’t catching the ball, now it’s a little friction there. I mean, I don’t make a big deal about it. They won’t probably be best friends for sure. But even before the wedding, you knew this. I think it’s time to move on. I think AJ [Brown] is going to a new team. We are gonna see what Jalen Hurts looks like with AJ Brown. We are gonna see (how) AJ Brown looks like without Jalen Hurts.

LeSean McCoy said on Speakeasy

The former running back basically wants to be done with this constant buzz around Hurts and Brown. He appealed for all to move on, as things seem to be going that way.

I can’t wait, because now, we are gonna have this conversation every day and every night, and I think this type of conversation for my home boys on the Eagles, it has affected the team,.

Was Jalen Hurts not invited to AJ Brown’s wedding?

Brown got married to his fiancee, Kelsey Riley, on May 16 at Montage Laguna Beach, TMZ reported. The couple tied the knot at a lavish beachside ceremony surrounded by friends and family.

Astonishingly, Hurts wasn’t present at the wedding. And not only Hurts, but none of Brown’s current Eagles teammates were present either. Inside sources told TMZ that former Eagles cornerback Darius Slay made an appearance.

Hurts skipping Brown’s wedding is a bit surprising, given the fact that the Super Bowl MVP is the godfather to AJ’s daughter, Jersee. Not only that, Brown and Hurts have known each other since high school, and Hurts even tried to recruit Brown at Alabama in college.

It’s worth noting that Hurts and his wife, Bryonna Burrows, also missed Brown’s engagement due to the Met Gala.

A surprise AFC team could trade for AJ Brown

Brown has been with the Eagles since 2022. During that time, he has crossed 1000 yards every season and has scored 33 touchdowns. Brown received Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors.

He’s currently in the final year of his three-year, $96 million contract and has asked to be traded. Most analysts expect Brown to reunite with his former Tennessee coach, Mike Vrabel, in New England. However, a different AFC team has entered the conversation in the last couple of days.

Jeff Kerr of Sports Illustrated named the Jacksonville Jaguars as a possible destination for the Super Bowl-winning wideout.

The Jaguars are loaded with young receivers such as Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington, and Travis Hunter. Jacksonville also signed former Raider Jakobi Meyers earlier in the year. Kerr still wants the Jaguars to push for Brown’s services.

Could the [Jacksonville] Jaguars become players for Brown in the coming weeks?… The Jaguars are deep at wide receiver, even with Thomas regressing after a strong rookie season two years ago. Perhaps one of these wideouts may enter the Eagles notably Thomas. Wouldn’t Jacksonville want Brown and Thomas as the top two receivers? Washington has emerged as a playmaker, and the Jaguars gave up a ton of draft capital for Hunter, so they have to see if that experiment will work.

Kerr wrote

Brown has aspirations of playing for the Patriots. Adam Schefter of ESPN believes that the Eagles will listen to offers after June 1.
