The Kansas City Chiefs have addressed a few positions through the draft and free agency, but did not do so with the wide receiver position. That may be because they have ultimate faith in Rashee Rice and his band of pass catchers.

The unit is thin by NFL standards. But when a team deliberately does not reinforce a unit, it is as clear an indication as possible that they believe in their players.

Sure, the unit has underperformed in the past season, and 2024 was more about how they performed as a team, and not individual success.

The hope is that Xavier Worthy, Tyquan Thornton, and the other younger lot can finally break free now that the veterans are out of the squad.

Then there is the theory that Rice might perform better than ever, considering he is entering his contract year. Anyone looking to get a major payday tends to play lights out. If they can get that from the troublesome receiver, they would be fine.

For that to happen, the 26-year-old has to first report to OTAs. He will do that soon now that he has completed his 30-day prison term for violating his probation.

But what transpired when he was leaving prison is what caught everyone’s attention. After getting back his belongings and signing out, Rashee Rice realized that there were people recording him.

He backpedaled his way towards the door, then turned and made a beeline for the final exit. Throughout this entire time, two men with cameras and phones in their hands chased after him, trying to get a comment.

Fans lose their minds watching media chase after Rashee Rice

Thankfully, Rashee Rice is quite a bit faster than those media men. That helped him get the steps necessary to outrun them and then get into a black SUV to escape the prison area.

But what surprised fans was how the two men with cameras did not give up and chased the Kansas City Chiefs wideout until he got into his vehicle. They felt that the WR backpedaling and escaping was enough proof that he did not want to talk.

For them to continue chasing after him was peak media lunacy, as has become a trend these days. Check out examples of those reactions below.

Another part fans noticed was how normal Rashee Rice looked while running away from the media. That is because he is supposedly rehabbing his knee.

Rashee Rice had his right knee operated on as a clean-up surgery to remove loose debris. At the time when this came to light, it was reported that he would miss two months.

I’m told that Rashee Rice is going to continue to rehab a knee injury that he surgically repaired shortly before he went into prison… He did emerge with no major issues, so he is going to rehab that over the next six weeks.

Jeremy Fowler revealed on NFL Live

This means that the wideout has completed four weeks of rehab inside the jail. Fowler revealed that Rice was worried about catching an infection. But so far, everything looks good, and he should be ready by training camp.

That will be good news for Andy Reid and the coaches, because they need their leading receiver to be ready and firing on all cylinders.
