When Jayden Daniels returned after dislocating his elbow, the conversation should have been about how he played for most of their game against the New York Giants. But as Micah Parsons and the rest of the NFL world witnessed, it became about something else.

The third-year quarterback produced a brilliant game on his return, passing for 199 yards, while also using his legs to add another 101 yards, and most crucially, two touchdowns.

But all that effort started to go to waste when the Commanders allowed the Giants to claw back the deficit and tie the score in the fourth quarter. In the final drive, all Daniels had to do was drive the team down the field and hand it over to his placekicker.

Instead, what transpired left head coach Dan Quinn smashing his headset and football fans across the world with their hands over their mouths. With the clock running down, the offense did not snap the ball, and the time ran out.

Instead of having a chance to kick a potential game-winning field goal, they were left with a tie. Now, Micah Parsons believes that this indecision could end up costing Quinn his job.

Jayden Daniels probably cost my man Dan Quinn his job, to be honest with you. I’m a big Jayden Daniels fan. But the reality is he probably cost a lot of people their jobs this past weekend.

Micah Parsons said

The superstar pass rusher enjoyed his best seasons under Quinn, which is why he was ticked off by what Daniels did. Had they won the game, Parsons knows how it could give his former coach some stability.

Micah Parsons continues to call out Jayden Daniels’ mistake

Micah Parsons also plays in the NFC and knows how hotly contested and difficult it is for any team to stage a run to the playoffs if they fall behind early. That is why he kept on criticizing Jayden Daniels while speaking on his podcast, The Edge.

Mind you, it’d be different if Jayden Daniels was a rookie. This is your third year. You’ve been to the NFC Championship Game. You’ve been in big moments before. To me, even after the sack, you’re casually getting up… I’m like, ‘You just took a sack.’… He’s not even urgently getting up.

Parsons continued

The second part of that statement was the edge rusher pointing out how the Commanders QB lost his sense of urgency, or focus, in what was a crucial, game-altering situation.

When his podcast co-host added that Daniels was seen chatting with Giants defenders before that play, Parsons added that it angered him a lot, as it was clear that the LSU alum was not dialed in to what was important. Therefore, there were no excuses for that blunder, and it was squarely Daniels’ fault.

Micah Parsons would have confronted Jayden Daniels had he been his teammate

Jayden Daniels took accountability for the clock running out, suggesting that it was on him. But that was not enough for Micah Parsons, who went on to add this to his already heated rant.

I’m a big JD5 fan, but that’s inexcusable, bro. The lack of urgency- that’s something… I would’ve had to say something in the locker room. I would’ve had to come talk to him, like, ‘Yo, that’s not OK.’

Parsons added

The 27-year-old pointed out that this season was a make-or-break for both Quinn and the quarterback. While the former was working for his job, the latter was playing for his first major contract.

Parsons questioned whether a player soon to earn $60 million is expected to make such mistakes. He hopes this weighs heavily on those negotiations with Jayden Daniels as much as it would when deciding on Quinn’s future.
